I live up in the hills, so my weather is a little different than Albany. Also, my driveway can be an icy nightmare at times (one application of rock salt can be 300+ lbs).

One set of Blizzaks lasted me four seasons on the Subaru. They're great tires for the first part of their life, but as they wear down, the effectiveness does too; I probably should've bought new tires last year, but the winter was relatively mild and they suited me fine.

On the Blazer/Astro, we've been running the Nokians for the last five years and have been extremely happy with them. A set of Hakkapeliitta 5s are going on my car this winter. Had I not gotten a steal on wheels/tires, I'd have gone with the Nokians from the start.

Im glad you get some use from your oversized-aggresive tread, im trying to be a badass tires for a couple of snow storms in between piles of highway miles and non-existant offroad excursions.

Pssh.  Your M3 can't get over the snow drifts and your Jetta's smelted [sic] steering rack is more important than your tires, methinks.  :2funny:

I'm sure your BMW is giving you plenty of use chauffeuring around your pink dress shirts, grey slacks and penny loafers to the business parking lot, inbetween trips to the bars at 2am where you spend your night desperately trying to convince yourself that the posessions you own and your sense of sarcasm and wit ultimately amount to something meaningful in an existence punctuated by long lonely periods under fluorescent lighting, slaving away at a CAD platform alongside other sallow people, in a desperate bid for an equity stake in the end.  Really, it's worth it.  We promise.  Your beemer made your eCock and wristwatch twice as large as the subaru once did.  It shows.

I like where this thread is going.
Eric

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

I must be right about the jeep.....

My ecock has always been large regardless of vehicle.  Lately, I'm too busy "slaving away at a
CAD platform" to formulate witty threads/retorts on unysoc.  So, I throw out transgressive
statements to keep the forum alive.

"you are not what you own"

You can clown on my choice of cars and clothes but don't misconstrue why.
If i had no possessions I'd still be an asshole with even more time to
enlarge my ecock. Financial freedom is from sound decision making. Its a reward for years of low paying go nowhere jobs, and college. I work hard for everything I have and Im very happy.

I didn't buy my 14 yr old car for "status" thats just rediculous.  I would've atleast got a 5series lol
Im not going to  argue the merrits of the e36m3, you know its a good car.

dont forget the spare dress shirts and shoes so i can stay fly, "you can learn how to dress by jocking my fresh"

Well stated.  Now follow your own advice.

Well you're all the fuck way up north again, aren't you?  If you're making it down to Troy sometime in the near future, drop me a line.  Aram and I would welcome the chance to set fire to a building for the evening.  Ryan's wake is fun, but these days Daisy's, Bacchus and the new Broadway Brew and Bootlegger's places seem like an entertaining evening.  I'll even wear my pink shirt again.  Pink is power.

I ran almost bald RE-92a's last winter and did pretty good. The only time i got stuck was in my driveway on that last snow storm where it was .5" of ice covered with 2" of slushy ice.

Devin is also in to drink.
This sig is on a diet as per Kavik. All hail HypnoKAVIK!!!

I live up in the hills, so my weather is a little different than Albany.

i just moved to cambridge in august.  it's nice to have a driveway and a yard again and the winter's are definitely a little harsher there.  being buried by plows on one side and idiot shovelers on the other is what sucked in albany.  i do miss walking to the many bars vs. a 2 mile drive to the 1 bar in cambridge though.

back on the tires, i'm starting to really lean towards the Generals.  can't beat the price and almost every review/comparison i've read has them top 3.  The Nokian's are nice too, my buddy had some on his 300zx a few years ago and loved em.  we'll see, i'll be making my purchase by the end of the month.

I ran the michelin X-ice 2s over the winter - they performed very well. Not too bad in the dry, but I wasn't beating on them.

Had studded winterforce on my WRX.  They were beastly and I'm going to be running them on the Jetta this year.

I had Dunlop Graspic DS-3's on the RSTi.  They lasted one season.....  The second season was real sketchy, especially on trips up to Mt. Snow.
