Recently got into locksport and have been getting padlocks randomly from garage sales, and targeted from amazon.

I just ordered a bunch of gage feelers to start fabricating my own picks. Or, most likely accidently start a fire while I try to fabricate.

Always liked desktop puzzles so I decided, a couple of years ago, to make use of it. Started small and worked my way up. Now a bobby pin and a bent paperclip are my go to picks. Always have them in my wallet and they work well.
Whoever smelt it dealt it.

Shit's starting to get real
Still a bit of a ways to go on it (there was a set back with the first piece of olive wood splitting) but damn, i think he's nailing it with the anally specific measurements I gave him  :smitten:

See attached, the purple is going to darken up a bit more with sanding and applying finish. The grain in the olive should pop even more too

Sweet.  I'd probably suck with a pool queue that wasn't a bent cheapie, at this point in my life.

Lol I've shot with my fair share of those too
If you're talking the warped sticks hanging on the walls, there will always be something to be said for the feel of a solid, 1 piece cue...Not to mention the effect it can have on your betting game  :coolsmiley:

More lacrosse gear. Thanks to eBay, snagged protective gloves that fit like driving gloves for 60% off.  My old ones smell like a Superfund site.

I got wood

(and rear brakes, but that's less exciting. 40k miles and 1 of the pads was completely gone  :? Ate a rotor. All other corners have at least 50% left on both inner and outer pads)

Those look cool, how long do you think that much wood will last you?  You're a project-churning guy.

Ugh, I gotta do pads soon on the Mazda2 and fiance's Hyundai.  Subaru still doesn't work, most of my recent purchases have been for that hehe.

I haven't really been doing a whole lot lately, work has kept me pretty damn busy these past few months.
I imagine it'll last me quite some time. A lot of these pieces are too nice to waste on simple stuff, and I don't have a ton of projects in mind for them yet (about half what you see there was a result of 2 variety bundles, so not something I could really plan ahead)
Then a couple things I DID have vague plans for.... Well, the 2 pieces of thin purpleheart and 3 pieces of olivewood were, shall we say, disappointing  :|
Literally the only pieces I've ever seen from Bell Forrest that I've been unhappy with. But shipping costs make returns on just a couple pieces cost prohibitive

So far I'm working on plans for 2 knife handles (undecided wood types), handles for a set of 6 screwdrivers (the long pieces of hard maple as the main body, accent pieces to be determined), and going to make a few magnetic wall hanging knife racks from the wide thin stock.

Other than that though... Most of this will suit around so i have stock on hand as projects come up

The brake thing pisses me off. I honestly think the pad separated from the backing plate. Is that even possible?
I had no indication of any problems, then I heard/felt a loud pop in the back while pulling into a parking lot...thought I blew a tire, stopped and looked, found nothing. So I thought maybe I just ran over something, went and looked in the road, found nothing.
Shortly into the drive after leaving from there i started to hear the grinding

Yea, that's a thing that can happen but i've only heard of it going on during extreme load.  I've also seen big chunks of pad just snap off.   Nothing I've owned, however.

I've had a pad separate from the backing on the Outback, and my 72 Beetle had it happen on a shoe.
Both were a PITA. At least I was close to home each time, but it still wrecked a disc and a drum.

I've had one crack, and one lose a chunk, this was the first to lose a whole pad. And no one locally seems to stock my brake parts, so it was a couple days before I could get them done

Dave, pep boys had some brake parts sales last weekend, crazy cheap. Don't know if they still do, but might want to check on availability for your 2, in case it's a bad as it is for the 3

No Pics but yesterday I found I have a belt showing on one rear tire and cupping on the other.
Scour craigslist for snow tires and find a cheap set for $100,  Hankook iPikes... Thought process was these will work fine for a month or so until I get my suspension / alignment issues fixed.   Id rather burn through $100 used set than my good Blizzaks

Show up to get the iPikes and they are fucking mint. Practically new    No haggling,  bought and left.  Pretty damn cheap for a 225/50/18 tires.

I am up to 3 sets of rims and 3.5 sets of tires now.. :crazy2:

You sent me the pic of the Corded tire, I meant to ask if it was alignment or fender-rub that nuked it. Those ipikes sounded like a steal man.

Welcome to my world.  It's why I built and will build more wall racks for the tires.  I think I have 10-12 wheels/tires floating around the garage now. Add to that a 2nd engine and a hoist: Doing the engine work on the subie was fun, i had no place to put a lot of what I was taking off...so i just put it in the car, or under it when it was on jack stands.
