Recently got into locksport and have been getting padlocks randomly from garage sales, and targeted from amazon.

I just ordered a bunch of gage feelers to start fabricating my own picks. Or, most likely accidently start a fire while I try to fabricate.

Always liked desktop puzzles so I decided, a couple of years ago, to make use of it. Started small and worked my way up. Now a bobby pin and a bent paperclip are my go to picks. Always have them in my wallet and they work well.
Whoever smelt it dealt it.

Shit's starting to get real
Still a bit of a ways to go on it (there was a set back with the first piece of olive wood splitting) but damn, i think he's nailing it with the anally specific measurements I gave him  :smitten:

See attached, the purple is going to darken up a bit more with sanding and applying finish. The grain in the olive should pop even more too

Sweet.  I'd probably suck with a pool queue that wasn't a bent cheapie, at this point in my life.

More lacrosse gear. Thanks to eBay, snagged protective gloves that fit like driving gloves for 60% off.  My old ones smell like a Superfund site.

I got wood

(and rear brakes, but that's less exciting. 40k miles and 1 of the pads was completely gone  :? Ate a rotor. All other corners have at least 50% left on both inner and outer pads)

Those look cool, how long do you think that much wood will last you?  You're a project-churning guy.

Ugh, I gotta do pads soon on the Mazda2 and fiance's Hyundai.  Subaru still doesn't work, most of my recent purchases have been for that hehe.

I haven't really been doing a whole lot lately, work has kept me pretty damn busy these past few months.
I imagine it'll last me quite some time. A lot of these pieces are too nice to waste on simple stuff, and I don't have a ton of projects in mind for them yet (about half what you see there was a result of 2 variety bundles, so not something I could really plan ahead)
Then a couple things I DID have vague plans for.... Well, the 2 pieces of thin purpleheart and 3 pieces of olivewood were, shall we say, disappointing  :|
Literally the only pieces I've ever seen from Bell Forrest that I've been unhappy with. But shipping costs make returns on just a couple pieces cost prohibitive

So far I'm working on plans for 2 knife handles (undecided wood types), handles for a set of 6 screwdrivers (the long pieces of hard maple as the main body, accent pieces to be determined), and going to make a few magnetic wall hanging knife racks from the wide thin stock.

Other than that though... Most of this will suit around so i have stock on hand as projects come up

The brake thing pisses me off. I honestly think the pad separated from the backing plate. Is that even possible?
I had no indication of any problems, then I heard/felt a loud pop in the back while pulling into a parking lot...thought I blew a tire, stopped and looked, found nothing. So I thought maybe I just ran over something, went and looked in the road, found nothing.
Shortly into the drive after leaving from there i started to hear the grinding

Yea, that's a thing that can happen but i've only heard of it going on during extreme load.  I've also seen big chunks of pad just snap off.   Nothing I've owned, however.

I've had a pad separate from the backing on the Outback, and my 72 Beetle had it happen on a shoe.
Both were a PITA. At least I was close to home each time, but it still wrecked a disc and a drum.

I've had one crack, and one lose a chunk, this was the first to lose a whole pad. And no one locally seems to stock my brake parts, so it was a couple days before I could get them done

Dave, pep boys had some brake parts sales last weekend, crazy cheap. Don't know if they still do, but might want to check on availability for your 2, in case it's a bad as it is for the 3

No Pics but yesterday I found I have a belt showing on one rear tire and cupping on the other.
Scour craigslist for snow tires and find a cheap set for $100,  Hankook iPikes... Thought process was these will work fine for a month or so until I get my suspension / alignment issues fixed.   Id rather burn through $100 used set than my good Blizzaks

Show up to get the iPikes and they are fucking mint. Practically new    No haggling,  bought and left.  Pretty damn cheap for a 225/50/18 tires.

I am up to 3 sets of rims and 3.5 sets of tires now.. :crazy2:

You sent me the pic of the Corded tire, I meant to ask if it was alignment or fender-rub that nuked it. Those ipikes sounded like a steal man.

Welcome to my world.  It's why I built and will build more wall racks for the tires.  I think I have 10-12 wheels/tires floating around the garage now. Add to that a 2nd engine and a hoist: Doing the engine work on the subie was fun, i had no place to put a lot of what I was taking off...so i just put it in the car, or under it when it was on jack stands.

I'm so far out of the loop with computer parts, but I assume this are good? Lol  haven't put one together in years now.... Hell, barely turn on my laptop anymore either, unless for photo editing

Just ordered this last night, but here's a Google image :

Oh, and have recently bought Wolfenstein 2, Forza 7, and COD WWII... All of which will take advantage of the 4k and/or the hdr functions  :-)
Can't wait to see how they look on the new system

Wolfenstein and Forza both look awesome.

COD has to come up with better naming.  Wasn't the first COD set in WWII?  So this is really COD: COD.

All 3 have been good so far.  Though COD is the only one I've played since the new system arrived. Looks freaking beautiful though in 4k hdr  :smitten:

I don't honestly know what the old ones all were, i haven't played them all. I know they've done WWII stuff before though, yeah.
I'm just happy to see it getting back to historical and realistic, instead of the futuristic BS. That was all getting a bit too annoying

It's not about the number of photos you have, it's about how many views they get on third party sites.  It's a shit change that's been discussed here a bit, makes the whole service pointless

Well, you could always shell out the $300 (I think) per year ransom to release your photos.   :idiot2:

Quote from: Photobucket

Plus 500 offers 500GB of Storage, Unlimited Linking, Unlimited Bandwidth, and 3rd Party Hosting*

*Photobucket reserves the right to limit excessive bandwidth usage.

The plan needed for third party hosting (being able to post directly on a forum, for example) is $39.99/mo or $399/yr (freaking insane)
And apparently they can still randomly decide you're using too much and block it at any time... So "unlimited" doesn't really mean unlimited (freaking  ridiculous)

You can get your own website, with domain and everything, for a fraction of that cost, with truly unlimited storage and bandwidth and no limitations on how you choose to use the files you store there.
I wanna know who's really actually paying this kind of money for picture storage on a site/app that never works right anyway  :uglystupid2:

Me too... like Car # 3?
I usually use imgur for forums,  but I have a OneDrive account I dump all my important shit in now.  Easy to access from work, phone, computer, blah blah blah and its a couple bucks a month. You could share and link to pictures on OneDrive,  but its a bit of a pain in the ass.

For the most parts though,  forums have died as most car clubs have gone to Fecalbook.

Sorry, it's a real easy thing to go off on a tangent on lol
But, you know, there are plenty of forums unrelated to cars  :crazy2:

Back on topic......Forza in 4k hdr looks freaking incredible  :-o
I keep getting distracted watching the environment when I should be driving lol

That said, the 4k upgrades take a LOT of space. For Forza is an additional 28 gig of space.  Look for my next post here to be about a better external hd lol
1TB internal and 500GB external isn't going to last long at this rate  :|

Yea, but whatever i'd get, I'd have to trade in the Mazda.
Buick, Cadillac - Subaru stays the dedicated 3-season car it is.

AMG - Subaru's back in the 4-season rotation.
