The rust was nasty and was photoshopped out  ;-)  hahaha
I bought it with 130k miles for exactly 5 grand.  Got three years out of it.

I saw this car at Goldstein's today. Not to bad aside from the quarters needing to be replaced.

A grand?  Depending on how bad the rust was, that sounds a bit low.  The gas issue was probably just a charcoal canister issue, or vent issue...  The windows just popped off their tracks, right?  None of it seemed very serious, and I don't see any rust in your sig pic, so you had less than mine, and I paid 4k for mine, with 216k on the clock.
You sir, are the reason this cars sell for so much.   :buck2:
2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5rs wagon

1995 Subaru Brighton Rs (sold)
2002 Hyundai Accent (sold)
1999 Chevy Cavalier (sold to my brother)
1998 Subaru Legacy wagon (traded to Blackparis)
1997 Subaru Legacy (Parted out and crushed)
1999 Honda Civic (Wrecked)
Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

I was going to say it in a less-kind fashion.

Lol.  Okay then, that does sound perfectly reasonable.  Plus, I have no clue how bad the transmission was.

It's probably just me, since I always buy cars (even DDs) assuming I'll be doing work on them, but I feel like most of the mentioned issues aren't much to talk about.  I'm not advocating it having been sold for 3k, I'm just saying that compared to what I paid for my rusty-ass example, it seemed low (or did from the little picture there was for me to draw some info from).

I could just be justifying spending 4k on what should have gone for 2.5, though....  :buck2:

I was going to say it in a less-kind fashion.

I'm really foreseeing a bad trend starting, mostly caused by me...
-'00 BRP 2.5RS- rustbucket DD with cheap suspension  :D
-'66 VW Type III 1600 Squareback- Survivor, 42k miles, competing in the Great Race 2012
-'83 944- mostly-un-broken track car
-'84 Fiero- V8 swapped, soon to get new fuel injected LT1

Not just you.  It's the stupidity of the Subaru conglomerate in general.  Go and shop for a used 06-07 WRX with moderate mileage (~60k).  Now go and shop for a BMW 330 of the same year.  Same or less money.  It's stupid when a 4-5 year old juiced up econobox sells for 25% less than new.  What's worse, people pay those prices and support the mania.
