Volvo oddities?
« on: September 29, 2011, 09:30:12 AM »
Hey all,
Gonna be replacing the rear rotors and pads on my wife's 2004 XC70 in the coming months.  Was wondering if there was anything weird I was going to run into.  I've done my brakes a couple times now and helped a few friends with their respective cars and I feel confident now.  However, I don't want to get in there and find out I need some odd Swedish tool or something to finish the job.  If anyone knows Volvos and can ease my mind, I figured I'd ask...

I replaced the brakes on a 87 Volvo Station wagon once. There weren't any special tools needed and I dont remember it being out of the ordinary.

Sam, if I hear you groaning and moaning from 2 miles up the road I'll swing on through!
Or, if you want to tag team this let me know. I have a double wide garage if you are pressed for space, and if we get in some kind of jam, my neighbor is the man! S.O.B. can fix anything for a six pack!  :2funny:
His air hoses reach over the fence and through the window too, zip zip zip, done!

Dang!  Thanks for the offer, I may just hit you up on that.  Won't be soon but, hopefully, before it gets too cold out there.  Got a lot of shite on my plate at the moment...
