2005 WRX trunk lid ...
« on: December 12, 2004, 08:12:18 PM »
I bought a 2005 black STI (Obsidian Black Pearl) Saturday and am looking to get a 2005 WRX trunk lid (ideally w/ a WRX wing). The black apparently changed this year, so it has to be from a 2005.

Anyone with a Obsidian Black Pearl 2005 want to sell/or trade?

Whats up Shawn? Glad to see you went with an STi! I feel influential for the first time in my life.

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

looks like another stealth STi in the making.
Sweet.
I should just keep my RS looking as stock as possible.   That way it'd suprise the HELL out of people.

oh wait... it already does!  That poor guy on the freeway with the prelude today...  shouldn't have challenged me...

Hey Eric!  You should take credit...after taking the back roads in you STI @ 100mph, it was just a matter of time before I got one.  I sold my NSXtoo, so my wife actually approves of this.  COBB stage 2 should be here Friday along with some Teins.

I'm envious that you're already going Cobb Stage 2

Glad I could help!

Hey, is this you with the NSX that came to the MOHUD auto-x's?  If so, this is Byron. I know we met through Jason Filberto.

if not, oh well, welcome anyway.

Hey Byron.  Yes, I am the same guy.  Last time I saw your STI, it was stock...I understand from Eric that you've done quite a bit in the way of mods?  Any advice?

My only advice is keep it stock and enjoy the hell out of it. Or get ready to go REAL deep into mods.  The turbo doesn't like turbo back exhausts, you will get boost creep. And the ECU doesn't like mods in general.  But  at least now there are ECU reflashes available and they are pretty simple(as opposed to my emanage piggy back).

have fun.

Unfortunately, I can't leave anything alone and had to modify already.  I've had my Tein's & COBB Stage 2 since Monday and I am very pleased with the results.  With only 600 miles on it, I'm being very careful to break it in porperly, but it's very tempting to not to test it.   Way too soon to do a true review, but I can clearly feel the low end torque gain.  I'll give another update in a few weeks, when it's broken in.
