The wing flapping in the wind at highway speeds drove me nuts, whatever its use was.

 Sooo functional.

Sooo functional.

You can FEEL the SPEED.

Brings me to another thought: de-winging the 02-07 Imprezas.  While I think the WRX spoiler looks bad, the bare trunk definitely looks goofy.  The STI wing is obnoxious but still lent some visual balance to the car.  The STI limited rear lip is pretty damn slick though.

20+ year old Euros.  I'm about to join that club, if I can get the WRX sold very quickly.   :-D

I like a lot of things that are price prohibitive, like Resto-Mods and Cars with RS, M, AMG, and V on the trunks.

Dave, looking at your signature... is the front lip on your BMW camo? If so, "mods I don't like" is not a strong enough statement.

That's what I've always thought about the wings.

So, RustyS-o-b, Moolah, AmazingMoneyGrinder and...  uh... Voracious? :-D

I keed.  I like pretty much all of those too.

I wondered why no one jump on Dave's case for the sticker-bombed front lip.

He is getting the benefit of the doubt due to it's seemingly less than serious, beater/hoopty status.

Can you take the rest of the car seriously enough to even critique it?

That poor BMW has been the forum slut for the better part of a decade.  It's been to the moon and back, as far as mileage is concerned.  It's running on a combination of luck, some past maintenance and the fact that it's so underpowered, it'll take forever to wear out drivetrain parts.

Laughing at that car is like laughing at a hooker after a busy weekend, because her makeup is smeared and her hair is in disarray.

How many owners has that thing gone through, anyway?  I know of 2, and I've been on here for a half-year.

I remember when styles lived in SGF and brought me for a ride in that right after he got it running. I also remember having to go jump start it right near exit 17. That was before paint and side skirts...

That was 3 title changes and two owners ago. I may have still had my Outback... so that's three cars ago.
Eric

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

IIRC, it went from Dave to Styles to Dave at some point, right?  I remember it swapping a couple times.

I know, I can't believe it took so many posts to get to!  But, it did also take 3 pages for someone to suggest I was the 'mod' that nobody liked.   :2funny:

He is getting the benefit of the doubt due to it's seemingly less than serious, beater/hoopty status.
It's very seriously funny.

Bingo.
Styles to Dave to WayneO back to Dave IIRC

Joe from Mohud and a classmate of mine, to Styles, to me, to wayneO, back to Me.  Sort of sounds like that one old spice commercial.  Look in your hand, it's a DIAMOND.

I think the horns are just a waste of money big deal if your horn is louder. I live up in lake george and drive my car on roads that are unpaved often and the lake whens it freezes. The mud flaps i feel they were a functional thing to protect my paint, but if you never take it any where that warrants mudflaps such as a slammed car thats dragging them all the time, no its stupid.

Idk, I think the horns are pretty valuable when you consider that it's valuable for security. Hit the panic alarm or the horn and those babies will sing. I'd rather pay for loud horns than for repairs when some moron merges into me because he can't hear me honking away.

Damn, hellas are some old ass left over mod that everyone did on nasioc, when it still was i-club, because all we had was the 2.5rs and no mods for it...if you want horns go for it. but putting them all up in your face in the grill and color matching to boot....see you at the next HIN show...LOL.

Well, if your car is just loud all the time, you don't need loud horns.

I've almost NEVER used my horn.  I think three times since I started driving, and one was in the old Roadmaster (whose horn is broken).  I think I'm too much of a "christian motorist," as May would put it, to need Hellas.

...plus I think the look tacky.  :-(

^next time you see my car at HVCC, check my grill.

I like my hella's, aside from the kinda "gay" noise they make, they have been useful especially down in troy. Ive almost t-boned a few cars that didnt stop for the red light.

Are they painted black to hide?

I came up with an actual mod I don't like.  Super-black taillights.  Some tinting is fine, but yesterday I was behind a Volvo (IIRC) and the things were so dim I barely noticed them in time.
