It's too much tire for the car with that offset, regardless of wheel width.  Your azenis, however, would be perfect for my 17's.  I could raise the car some and go from 8k/6k springs to 10k/8k but the ride is already 'abusive' lol.  I'll leave the looking good to the bmw, keep the subaru functional and fast.

that sounds like some seriously stiff spring for such a light car  :-o

and you're too late on the Azenis....I gave ya first shot, but they're spoken for now  :crazy2:

'tis ok, I can't make money out of thin air :-).  A few of the GC/GM/GF guys on rs25 are running 17x9's with poke with like 12k/10k springs...yeeesh.  The car is stiff with 8k/6k, and with a 225-45-17, the ride is barely tolerable.

You know what?  Fuck it.  I'm going to make the 'hellagay' wheels fit.  That way I can stuff some 17x8's with hoosiers on next year for autocross an not need to worry about clearance.
