More accident drama
« on: February 01, 2017, 02:29:01 PM »
Got the wagon back today and its still fucked up.  Pull really bad to the right,  after 20mph the traction control light comes on.  The body shop states

Our alignment place states this is the best they could align it with the lowering kit..... Well then how did firestone get it nice and straight???  I hope I can find my firestone printout so I can show them...
As for traction control they stated "You only said to do tie rods and alignment" to my reply of  "You said that was the only thing mechanically wrong with it."

Basically the body damage was only on plastic, so I didn't care about that.  So I brought it back and got a minivan for now.

I wish Fred was closer.  I would have hobbled it there for him to handle the whole fiasco.

Was your alignment place: Mavis?

if so, I had a very similar experience.  Sold me a 4 wheel alignment but only did the front, poorly.  No print-out.  Brought it back 2x, still fucked it up.  Tried to tell me it was my car, yadda, yadda.  Soooo much bullshit.

Luckily there was a Firestone right across the street.  I went to Firestone and the manager there told me, "they have the same alignment rack as we do.  The guy who services Firestones alignment machine also does Mavis and says that the people at Mavis have no idea how to use it."  My experience lent credibility to what Firestone manager said.

some local shop.   They came back and said the Steering rack is binding badly so they are now replacing that.     I have a lifetime alignment deal with firestone,  so I will probably run it over there at some point after I get my car back anyways. If its not perfect.     When I got the car back,  it was so bad that it was obvious that something was still wrong.
