I understand how modding my car would put me in SM, but shouldn't I be in STX?

I am curious about this because I don't think I stand a chance in SM.

My mods:

up/down pipes, cat back, accessport,

springs, rear sway and endlinks..

thats it.

accessport = SM since it changes your boost level...

and its very hard to be competitive in SM without R-compound tires...

well then race STX, technically any boost altering device is automatically into SM. It's along the same lines as having an EBC or MBC and having a setting for stock boost. SCCA is mostly honor system, so if you want to run STX go ahead, i dont think people will argue.

yeah I screwed myself with my mods haha. oh well.

I'll be lucky if I autox twice this year, so holding back on modifying my car just to fall into an SCCA class is kinda crazy.

Ok some one help me here. The scoring system has me really confused.
According to this I placed 7th. However my actual time would of placed me 3rd. I am confused by this. Someone care to explain this to me?

Novice class is PAX'd - meaning they multiply your time by a factor depending on the class you would have been in. So someone in stock class has a better PAX. So 7th in STX isn't bad at all. My first autocross with SCCA i placed 10th, novice class, in SM, so that was pretty good to.

Can you remove your rear/passenger seat for SM class? just thinking of easy weight reduction because i have to run SM as well and feel outclassed, as i only have turboback and a boost controller.
