Chasing P0028 code
« on: August 20, 2019, 10:35:51 PM »
I'm trying to troubleshoot a p0028 on my legacy.  The service manual pretty much sends you after the wiring harness then the solenoid for the variable valve lift.  Doing a bit of reading online, it looks like some have had issue with the oil pressure sensors on each head. A quick check on mine seems to point at the one throwing the code being a problem.
Has anyone else fixed either the P0026 or P0028 with the oil pressure sensors ?

All the time.  Replace the pressure sensors first. I stock a few of them at the shop, just donít over tighten them

That did it, no code since the swap on Friday.  I got scared before I got to the 12.5 foot pounds the book claims it needed.  I used white permatex for oil senders on it, no leaks so I think I'm good.  I think I'm going to do the other sender while the weather is good.
