NEW YORK ~

New York

See below for full text

Visor.................6"

Front doors............72%

Rear doors..........72%

Back window.........any

percentages are the amount of light that still gets through.

so basically dont let your windows get too dusty or you can get a ticket for it. heh :?

Wow. New York is really strict on... just about everything. Mass seems like you could do just about anything with them and they wouldn't care!

in my EVO i had 5% in the front, rear, and back with a 7 1/2 in banner in the front and a 6 1/2 in in the rear.   But for the STI, i might not even put tint on it... just some window banners. (**Cough**UNYSOC**Cough)

no.  72% is the amount of light that passes through the tint.  so you need 72% or a higher percentage to be legal.

I had 40 on the front and 35 on the back of my Honda and never got harrassed. I'll probably go with 40 all around on the STi... same for the girlfriends car.
Eric

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

yeah new york def sucks for all motor vehicle laws.  every single time i get pulled over the cop asks "how much tint do you have on your windows?".  and i reply i have no tint on the front windows.  i dont particularly like not having the front drver and passenger windows tinited but i was tried of paying for tint tickets.  besides having three windows tinted is JDM yo!!!!!!!

Do you guys think it would look stupid with different density tint on the front opposed to the back windows.. I have a suburban. Im still undeciede about the front windows and what to do.. SO thirty percent tint. would Be 70% ? OR is it 30% is the amout of light IN?

the percentage always means the same thing...the amount of light that  will go through the window.  so if you ask for 70% they will give you 70%, not mistakingly 30%.  30% would mean that only 30% light can go through the window.  70% tint is much lighter than 30% tint.

i have 5% on my windows....  and ive only been bothered once about it.    but it is almost impossible to see out of at night.

the guy that did my tint, i would recomend to anyone, anytime. he does excelant work. next thing i get tinted, is absolutly gonna be done by him.    his name is Lee, send him an email and ask him what his prices are,  leeberbs@comcast.net

Does tinting make your car much hotter in the summer (not that it could get much hotter these days) or does it help keep the heat out?  And typically how expensive does it run?  I'm assuming the more window surface area you have (I have a wagon) the more it would be.

Thanks!
