I put my car away for the winter because I don't want to damage my $1800 coilovers...let alone everything else that is more expensive than your mom...

Hell the whole reason I'm buying a WRX is to drive it in the winter.

Hey, my STi hasn't even seen a garage more than for an oil change and to get the different tires put on.
Eric

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

one thing that i noticed is that driving the highway my car becomes dirtier. i think its cause all the salt the put down or soemthing. i really don't get it dirty around where i live. idk u'll have to wash it when it dryes up a bit. did they tell uwhen u can washj it  or wax it?

When you guys get under you car to work on it after even just one winter you will take back all that you said.  Winter is great fun for everyday cars. Winter is hell on tuners cars and cars you want to look good for more than one year.  Rust RUST RUST RUST RUST RUST RUST RUST RUST RUST RUST RUST RUST RUST RUST RUST RUST RUST.

Did you get my point.
Yeah I know...."I wash my car once a week"

wash it once a day, i don't care.   The underneath will look like crap after one winter.  Bolts will get stuck.  Whiteline swaybars will rust.(you with whiteline know what I'm talking about :0  )

No they wont be new forever. But some will look like they are longer.

sorry I had to rant on this one. my sti is sitting pretty in the garage.

winter is hell period  :(

I'd love to let the WRX sit in the garage while I drove a POS, but .. I donno.. I used to have a v6 mustang and the plan this year was to get something I could drive in the snow. (a beater). but I said, "well, WTF, it just seems pointless to have a beater car when my 'nice' car is a friggin V6 mustang." GT, sure, but V6? come on.  then there was my friend telling me to buy a corolla which got me thinking, but yatta yatta, I digress.  anyway, the biggest reason why I bought the WRX is because it has AWD and therefore I can drive it in the snow.  does getting it dirty and salty and rusty bother me?  of course, but living in NY i guess I have to deal with it  :? when I start to mod the WRX i might just get to the point where I say fuggit and go buy a winter beater... who knows.

SIGH.

I've been putting wax on starting now :p

I washed her last week and put on a coat of Meguiars Gold Class... I'm a die hard Zaino fan and feel that Meguiars is inferior (especially after having used it) but I can't Zaino the car until I can claybar it first and all that, and I cant really do that until the spring.

I can't wait :D  she gunna look so purdy with a claybar job and 2938478297498273414 coats of zaino.

yes, I'm a girl, and I call my car a she.  I dont know why.  must come from working with a bunch of guys and hearing them refer to locomotives as females.

After 12 years of winters with my Honda and 20 some winters with my Skylark, I never had trouble getting a bolt off the Honda... and the only bolt I had trouble getting off on my Skylark was the lower shock mount on the drivers rear.

My STi IS my everyday car. My Skylark is the "Show" or "tuner" car... well... right now its the "project" car.
