i could be wrong, but i think i remeber hearing that the RA grearset is lower than RS gearing.   i could be wrong/way off tho.    and since rs gears are a bit lower than wrx gears, i dont know how it would be benificial, with the exception of durability.

just my $.02 :)

for drag racing, the jdm 6spd is actually not a great idea since it puts you well into 5th by the end of the 1/4

"for drag racing, the jdm 6spd is actually not a great idea since it puts you well into 5th by the end of the 1/4 "

I can attest to this :(
If you want teh bestest drag tranny, you should go with something along the lines of either RA 5 speed gears or other cryo-treated 5 spd gears. These are the "best" as they have the perfect setup for 1320 racing.

Other than that though, JDM 6 speed all the way!! Oh wait, not for highway runs over 160 . . . . :(

different ratio.  not worth the money at all - not any stronger than newer factory boxes

go with a PPG Box.  not as expensive as most people think, plus the clutchless upshifting is badass

Outback 4.44 FTW ;)
Eric

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.
