Im contemplating a head swap for my OBS. Its a 2.2 liter and I was thinking about putting on 2.5 heads to lower compression and increase flow, leading up to forced induction in the future. Does anyone know if this will work or has worked in the past?
Also, would I have to use the SOHC or DOHC heads (2.2 has SOHC).
'02 WRX - Deer killer...  Cobb Accessport reflash, vf-34, sti pinks, 255lph fuel pump, up-pipe, down-pipe, cat-back, short throw shifter n a bunch of other stuff...

I finally found a set of affordable relativley new heads. Im not 100% sure this will work but Ill try. If anyone is reading this and has some advice for me PLEASE feel free to comment.

im 90% sure they will work  although i would do further research as im only sure that they will bolt up , as far as working properly or any problems im not sure at all

I have a cel with a knock sensor malfunction code right now... I think my cranckshaft bearings are shot. Im not sure I want to keep the block, after all its not the ej22t... If I could get one of those. Anyways, no heads for me now.

I'm not up on all the engines...is this one of the fabled closed deck blocks? If so, keep it and force feed it.

unfortunetly its not a closed deck. The closed deck 2.2's were only available in the states as the early 90's legacy turbos. Im probably going to buy homurcules's old 2.5 block when I have enough spare money... I havent thought it out properly, I dont know if Im going to keep my block or just transplant the 2.5 crank in it.
