i actually got them seperated with a little bit of force. and they dont swap with each other :tickedoff: ive been talking to a guy on naisoc and he was talking about a set of custom sti axels that work with my hubs for $400-500. so i guess the scoob is going to be sitting for awhile more

well i got a price from the drive shaft shop and the axels cost $799. if im going to be spending that much i might as well save a little more a do the wheels and brakes.

and i also talked to guy form east coast swappers and he was talking about using a older r160 diff with 3.90 from a junkyard. does anyone know what model this comes out of? id rather do that and save up the brakes and wheels for the spring time.

Can ya put the STI Pinion and Ringgear in/on your stock wrx diff carrier? then atleast ya would have the correct gearing... I have done this b4 w/ BMWs....

an r160 with a swapped ring & pinion will work. You just need the 3.9 and the r160 will work great.

on a seperate subject, the older legacy's had a 3.90 ring & pinion setup already in an r160.  If you need any further info on this, just pm me. I have done the 6spd swap with 3.90 r160 ring & pinion setup before I went to my r180 currently, which holds the first "working" set of DSS axles...:)
