AccessPort

Sup Guys,

I've done a ton of research and I think Cobb Tuning's AccessPORTlooks mighty good.  I know most of you guys are UTEC fans, but I think I'm sold on this AccessPORT.  It hasn't come out yet,  but it should  be the real deal.  I am interested in the standard AccessPORT, as I will not be doing any of my own tuning.

Do you UTEC users really self-tune all that often?

Whadya think?

thanks in advane. I'd appreciate your opinions

Ive been reading about the accessport since before I got my rex. Im getting it as soon as I get an exhaust and more money. And then if I ever want to swap out my stock turbo for something more potent, all I have to do in the tuning department is download a map.

Thanks for the reply EvoWiper,  I thought I may have been coming out of left field.

I was thinking about just a stage 1 upgrade from Cobb or the UNICHIP-  but accessPORT seems so much better for like 160 duckets more.  Seems to be a really good hp/dollar mod at the least.  Not to mention a "security map."

Peace

UTEC is way better, IMO....

Much more people tune the UTEC and know what they are doing...TXS has been pretty good with updates, etc, not to mention the sheer amount of people that use the UTEC. That means there are many more people that you can talk to and ask questions...

Send me an IM or PM me and we can talk more if you want...

UTEC popularity

You bring up a great point.  There is a disadvantage to using a "new" item when it first comes out.  Hopefully AcessPORT won't have any bugs in it when it first comes out, but there are no guarantees.  Cobb is a reputable company, and has been recognized for their awesome customer service.

I'm not really a great "tuning/computer" kinda guy, so I guess I am a bit intmidated by a self-tune system.  Originally, I was just looking at plug-n-play chips like Cobb's access stage 1 or the UNICHIP.  Accessport seems to be comparable to UTEC, easier to use (yet to be seen), and almost half the price.

We'll talk soon.
My AIM is urabuspug   and I'm hoping to go to the post v-day meet-  (depending on v-day)

Dont want to start a new thread on this but accessPORT finally out and shipping. Im growing even more interested in it. It has two anti theft modes; one where the car wont start no matter what and another where it will start and idle (if warm) and shuts down if the rpms go past 1k. You can also switch maps on the fly with the car on. The unit itself can store 10 maps at a time and you can dl new ones for free....
long post, huh.... Granted, the tunning is not going to be as precise in each application as with utec, but Im exited about the anti-theft modes and the low price
