Exhaust header review...
« on: December 27, 2006, 05:38:27 PM »
 :smitten:

Installed my header today,  no track pipe or cat change, yet.... Its not the equal length OBX header, it is the cheaper one on ebay, goes around in front of the motor from passenger side and the 2 sides merge right b4 the cat section... the passenger side is approximately 2x longer than the drives side... 4-2-1 design

Anyways it works pretty well! I noticed a significant change in:
1. the sound from my otherwise completely stock exhaust system, it gave a deeper Growl :-D
2. LOTS OF TRQ 2k-5k wow... Though not significant b4 the car warms up...

I got it for 60$ used so I definitely believe it was well worth the $ Ill post pictures some other time

sounds like you got a borla replica.  I loved mine, although I had a catback so I probably noticed it more. Most of you heard how loud the RS was with the silencer out.

This is what it looks like... Its a header... But deffinatly not as good as the OBX equal length one would be... What im going to do is cut the 2 pipes right b4 the final colector and weld in my own 3inch collector to go back to my 3inch Magnaflow cat I picked up from Devin... then I just need a 3inch cat back.... Yes I will be in STX before this next season begins :-D and maybe I'll have the max size tires too :-D 245 FTW

I got the header from a friend that works @ the junkyard up by dix ave... he stripps cars there, saw it and knew it was a header and not a normal exhaust manifold.. so he bought it from them for 50$ called me and sold it to me for 60 :-D lol bastard had to make some money on it... he said they threw away the rest of the exhaust as it was completely cobbed...

Sorry to dig up the dead, but any chance you still have this header around and if so would you be looking to sell it?
