I see them go for ~150 bucks or so.
Eric

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

Well, I guess I should ask for more info. Are you talking about the EJ22T long block? Or just a regular old >95 Ej22?

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm on crack.

did they make non-turbo DOHC ej22?

All I can tell is that they have EJ22 on the block casting and are DOHC... Any other #s I should look @ to find out what exactly they are?

I was assuming they are EJ22t.. Since they are DOHC...

Yes, I am fairly certain that the Ej22T in 90-93 Legacies was SOHC. I still can't find any definitive info on whether a DOHC EJ22 was offered in the states, but I know that the early EJ22T's were SOHC.

I don't know of any DOHC ej22's. my 91 ej22t was a SOHC and all the N/A ej22 are SOHC. i did a quick check in the parts catalog and there is no listing for a DOHC 22.  if you post a pic i can probally tell you what engine it is.

I was waiting for the master to chime in, that is what I found on the internet, but I didn't want to say it.

chances are he is mistaking it having 2 cams as a dohc, where a subaru has 4 cams on a dohc engine. 2 per side.

He is big into BMWs.. and has rebuilt many motors... I hope he isn't that much of a noob...

were there any JDM ej22 with dohc?

how could he tell if maybe someone put ej25 dohc heads on a ej22 block?

My thought was that they are EJ22 block + EJ25 heads. I think the only EJ22 that was DOHC was the EJ22 in the 22B... but I'm not even positive that was.

the 22B was the only car to utilize a dohc on a ej22. and i can't imagine someone here having 2 of them and not knowing what they are. since only 400 of them where made.

... OK SO they aren't for sale... There was some confusion @ his shop... I guess they are already designated swaps for a couple of Porsche owners...

They are EJ22blocks with EJ25 heads...

944? 356? What Porsche?

I would love to get a 356 and throw a Gti 1.8t in it. Keep it German.

http://www.cardomain.com/features/turbo914

I dunno the specifics but 914s with suby drivetrains are fucking sweet ;)

its my buddies friends shop... he though he said he wanted to sell the motors... This guy makes some cool shit... (just his personal shop, but does insane jobs for friends) his daily drivers include: 290fwhp 1994 Ford Escort wagon (1.9liter ford motor turbod, megasquirt, 2400$ budget car) and a 62whp turbo'd Honda Ruckus (bore and stroke to ~175cc)

BTW: this guy loves turbos! and LOVES Megasquirt, also he had the first prototype Microsquirt on his Ruckus
