I spotted a white newgen wrx hatchback on 87 north yesterday afternoon with rally armors a-dancing in the wind.  I threw a wave and he threw a peace sign.  Looked good, but then again I haven't washed mine in months, and waxed it in almost a year.

I spotted a couple Subarus when I was up in Troy for the weekend...

There was a guy working on the light bar of his 2011 WRB WRX in the RPI shop on saturday afternoon. I didn't get a chance to meet you and properly check out what you were working on but I really should have. I was in a super rush to get in and out of the shop (I had the GF in the car and I had promised her that I would be in and out in under 20 minutes) and I got caught up giving a lesson on the tire mounter and balancer for much longer than I had intended. I would like to check out that driving light bar set up next time.

There was a black GD STi parked near the lower lobby entrance to the Hilton in Troy. Looked real nice and clean...

Why thank you sir.  Normally I think the flaps can look odd on some subarus, but on the white widebody with the darker wheels, they look right at home.  Nice call.

I hate 'street' trucks, but It's apparently not that hard to get a smallblock V8 into an S10.  Some kid at the Sun Yit had a '91 S10 with a chevy 350 in it, painted a very basic gloss grey.  It would certainly surprise some people.

If by "not that hard" you mean having the engine, some engine mounts, and the right oil pan, you'd be correct.
Eric

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

Sure easier than shoehorning a 350 into a Fiero...

I was going to ask if you knew him, since I know Austin through Formula SAE.  So now all the RSes at HVCC know each other?

Kinda. There is also the 2-3 dark blue 04-05 RS's floating around, the 99-01 BRP RS 4 door with white 6 spokes and altezza lights, and the 99-01 STM 4door RS in the garage. One of the 04-05 RS's has the halo style headlights, looks sweeet.
