Whens good for everyone?? Im open on weekends which is a beautiful thing....
The CNYSubaru Winter meet is the 23rd/24th - there will probably be a few people who'd want to go to that, so I'd avoid that weekend (or else our turnout would be less than stellar). I have a friend who's supposed to be in town the beginning of March who I haven't seen in over a year, but I don't have specifics. Weekends would probably be our best bet for getting the most people.
Dinner: Throw out some suggestions and we'll have a group vote! BTW Albany area would be easier.
Albany would probably be the best bet. It would serve as a middle point for us boondock people and the people from 'toga and whatnot.
My only stipulation is that I can't eat seafood (if the smell is too strong, that'll bother me as well).
As for places to eat, I would say we should go somewhere that isn't too expensive - ideally $20/$25 or so for dinner/drinks.
I have been to the Pump Station many times with work, and it's really good food (and a good selection of beers for the >21 crowd). It's also great for large groups (my work usually goes in with 20 people or so).
I've worked for the owner of Otis & Oliver's (formerly Buckshots) up in Latham. The food is really good, and I have the "connection" (aka we get premiere service
). Saturday night is Prime Rib night there, and it's one of the best.
My family is also a big fan of Valente's in Watervliet (near the Arsenel). Italian restaurant with great food.
I've also been to a few 99 restaurants, and they're usually good too.
Weather: Its going to be cold, we arent going to get away from that, I know we are a subaru group but it would be best to avoid heavy snow fall, freezing rain etc....plows up here arent the quickest in the world and storms up here are usually more severe.
I'd like to avoid bad weather, as well.
