Did you ever do the headlight mod to your STi to get rid of all that orange?  I really wanna do mine but I've never done it before and I really don't wanna f#@k it up since it costs way too much to replace if I do.  If you know what you're doing, maybe we can take mine apart next install meet

I know I'm not Byron.
However, I do know that a good friend of mine with VERY LITTLE mechanical skillz did it without goofing it up. If he can do it, I'm sure you can. They have plenty of instruction available online.

yep it's easy.  Just a little more concern/care must be taken for us w/ the HID bulbs.  Although I believe I left mine right in.   Just heat one in the oven on a low temp for about five to ten minutes(check online instructions for exact temp and time for my memory fails me).  Work on a bench or table with a towel under your light.  Take out all the little tiny screws. Once you are sure there is nothing holding it together then pry the front and back apart with a screwdriver(underneath where you wont see the pry marks later) and slowly pull the two sides apart.  It will be slowly, even warm that black stuff is thick.  Be careful not to let the black stuff drip (it gets stringy like caramel) on your reflector.  Also don't get fingerprints on it either.  Wash your hands after you seperate the front and back and b4 you touch the shiny stuff.  Pulling out the reflectors is self explainatory and so is reassembly.  Once that one is done start on the other side.   The whole thing took me no longerthan 2 hours.
You'll need to pic up orange 7440 turn bulbs if you want it to look legal.  If you want it to look like a 17 year olds Civic then you can leave the white bulbs in or get blue ones.  I think I only found orange in 7443 but it fit right in anyway.  I found chrome/orange on ebay if you want to order them b4 you do the mod.
let me know if you have any q's.
