I have an engine lift if you want to do it that way.. however it is definitely easier to drop the trans to change it...

Y didnt you have a new clutch put in when you had the motor rebuilt ?

I don't have the tools or the time but I did replace my Stock Clutch on my 02 bugeye, I pretty much remember every step.
I could lend a hand but it depends on when I am availble. machines don't break down from 8 to 4.

i think its easier to pull the motor and change it versus pulling the tranny

His car burnt to the ground and then he tried to sell burnt stuff off of it as good, so he has since been banned from the forum. Thanks for the input though since it'll help future searchers.

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.
