15" wheels on a WRX
« on: August 12, 2008, 12:57:02 AM »
I have a set of 15" tires off my old Audi and I want to use them for a winter/off road setup.  Will 15" steelies work on a WRX?  I'm going to check out a few junk yards tomorrow.

15" rally wheels may fit, but you'll have to go to various sites to look it up.  Team dynamics motorsport's site has the set i'm thinking of.  It says 'not for road use'.   :|

15" Subaru wheels will NOT fit.  Aussiedan's been running GD WRX brakes on his legacy for a long time, and my Legacy L 15's wouldn't fit over them.

15" steel wheels will NOT fit to my knowledge.  Even some after market alloy 16's required some grinding of the caliper to fit correctly (Gabe's old Legacy L project with WRX front brakes and Rota D2's).

I'm looking at a set of 15" BBS's on craigslist. :-) Pretty sure they will fit.

Honestly, I wouldnt get your hopes up.  Most cars with decent disc brakes either dont use steelies or have 16" wheels. What you will find in 15s will most likely come off a car with tiny brakes or drums...  Plus I wouldnt be surprised if most 15" steelies are designed for 4 studs.
