I don't think any of the dirt actually went anywhere...  I was planning on taking it some where for a full inside/outside job (my carpets are all crapped up from the winter and I'm too lazy to clean it myself)

There are few things as wholly right in this world as washing your car yourself, inside and out. Get some supplies and get your Zen on, you'll be happier about it.  :-)

I love this topic !! I have posted on Goldsteins before. My sales experience was 1st rate - no bs. Paul, who drives a Leggy GT and Aaron were awesome.  But after going in once for service and several times for filters/parts (yeah now I use Fred thanks to this site) I realized there is a "culture" at Goldsteins. Its difficult to explain but I have been the victim of what I call "am I a f&$#ing mirage over here or are you just blind" syndrome. I don't get it. When a customer walks in, shouldn't they say "Hello, can I help you?" Not there, its like they don't want to be bothered. Exactly why I will not do my services there. Eff the lifetime warranty bs, like they'd go good for it anyway, ya right.

that sucks but is typical...is there a particular reason you went with goldstein? did you buy the car there and want to keep good on the lifetime warranty thing? thats the only reason any of our subarus go there and its only my sisters because she bought it there.

I just picked my car up from goldstein and when i went over their first speed bump leaving i was and heard my trunk bounce up. My heart emediatly sank and i jumped out and looked and my trunk and sure enough my $300 12" pioneer sub is gone as is my radar detector. So i turn around and go back inside. When i spoke to someone they didn't seem to care and said i'll have to talk to service tomorrow (monday). My car has an automatic arming alarm even if you don't lock it it will arm in 60 sec. no wires are cut on the alarm, and it is in working order so how did my sub dissapear?  They were looking at the turbo (which is shot) so why was the trunk popped in the first place and if it was closed why wasn't the alarm going off?  I think a tech pulled an inside job.

damn that sucks dude.  I hope justice is served on your behalf.  On a different note, I kept having an issue with a misfire on cylinder #2.  Check engine light would come on, the car would misfire, but then it would go away.  I explained my case multiple times to the service guys at Capitaland but they kept looking at me like I had four heads.  Finally happened again, I brought it to Goldstein and they fixed the problem.  Am I mad at Capitaland..no not at all, but I have never had a bad experience with the service department at Goldstein.

Now the sales douchebags when I was shopping for my Outback(back about 4-5 years ago) is a completely different story and even thinking about it pisses me off.  Long story short, no respect amongst the sales people with the other sales people, tried selling me a broken vehicle, tried forcing me into a sale, and tried selling me an overpriced car. End of story

In all seriousness.  It's a case of theft, worth reporting to the authorities.

edit: Filing a claim with DMV might not be bad either, it'd be a shame for them to lose their inspector's license.  I'm not saying these things just to discredit the dealership--it was probably a rogue mechanic.  But, it might light a fire under their ass to find the guy if they had something to lose.

i only went there cause i was in a rush, was leaving town and they were closest. I called the cops as soon as the guys inside made it clear they didn't care in the least. there were two sets of customers looking and they did look a bit curiouse. I was loud about the issue too. :knuppel2: :tickedoff:
I absolutly think it was a mechanic. one guy looked at me and said "if it was a tech he would have taken it in the shop" not in front of co workers he wouldn't.

I'm faxing over a list of shit that went missing :knuppel2: , with a dollar amount to replace it all in the AM.  This morning i figured out they took a silver maglite(4D cel), my 12"sub(sub and box bought seprately),radar detector, leatherman supertool(multitool), 100pc socket set, and the key to my tool box at work(so i had to cut off the masterlock this morning to work). I demanded satisfaction today :tickedoff: and called them so many times they'll hear my voice while they sleep.  we'll see what they do.

i just hope they do the right thing and make it good without fighting it, it'd be a bitch to prove that you had the stuff in the car if it came down to that.

I've got paper work on the radar detector and the sub so thats provable but as for my sockets, maglite, and leatherman no peper work. So the saga is ending, the f*%kers only want to give me $300. So after speaking with my ins. (no deal, 500 duduct.)  and the folks for advice, i have no choice but to take the $. Even better than the thievery is the fact that after being told my turbo was "most likely bad" :idiot2: and i get one for $100 i rip the old one out to find is just perfect !!!   :2funny: :tickedoff: So i take out the uppipe and as soon as i pull it out i hear a thunk inside it; as i flip it over the same sound and now i can see the cat material sliding into the turbo flange opening thus blocking the turbo from getting any exhaust and the motor from too much back pressure. Any one think that would make a car slugish and loose power???   :knuppel2:  Not only are they thieves but they are f#$king incopotant morons and bad mechanics to boot!  :x :knuppel2: :tickedoff:

sons o' bitches!  i was afraid that's what was gonna happen with the loose odds and ends  that were missing....

but, paying you anything has to come with a receipt from them, right? that's admission of guilt.  in my totally unprofessional opinion i'd say that means you can smear the hell out of their name very publicly without it being 'slander'

curious, did it look like they even took anything apart to diagnose your turbo?

Well she's back together and it's like i have a whole new car. At first she had boost fluxuations when i bought her (the honeycomb bobbing up and down) then slowly lost power almost un-noticably over the last year till i said wtf?  Now that i have polished the turbo intake port and put the uppipe on the boost is solid, constant, and there is almost no lag. I drove all the way up to exit 12 to the fair with a  grin ear to ear.     CLEARLY the turbo is NOT bad and the catt. blocking the turbo flange was the issue, so it is clear to me that GOLDSTIEN SUBARU FUCKING SUCKS DONKEY BALLS and i will shit talk them till i die, I want to fight their service manager. The techs clearly don't know how to do thier job, mabey they should try somthing easier like shoe sales or somthing.
