Ah, i was thinking:  how big of an intercooler would be a 'good idea' on a car with a smaller turbo, such as a stock WRX unit.

Well< I am really Planning On doing the Blouch TD04 uprade . I would like a Nice TMIC to go with it.

If i have to go STI I can. But figured if the core is bigger that means either more heat soak or  More dense air.

Figured it would be a Cheaper alternative to a STI TOP MOUNT.  I am also Leary about buying things from strangers. :tickedoff:

Stock WRX turbo, I would run a STI TMIC.  Bigger, Spearco (if it had to be a tmic).  But heat soak is an issue no matter what kind of tmic you run.  Below about 40mph, air flows out the hoodscoop and not in.

The td04 upgrade is no longer a stock WRX turbo. So that is why I was thinking something bigger than a STI TM.

Even with the compressor upgrade, for the price, a used STi TMIC would be hard to beat (plus, it gives some "bling" factor to your engine bay). You should have no issue finding one for ~$300. If you can get a used APS/TurboXS/Spearco for that price, then jump on it, but otherwise, "settle" for the STi one.
