my GF just installed a kenwood unit with sirus in her focus (crutchfield deal) she absolutly loves it. hasn't even listened to a CD since she got it.

the sounds are crystal clear CD quality and there are no advertisments to speak of and of course hundreds of channels... I've used XM radio too and I like Sirus much better. The only talk you'll ever hear outside the talk stations is a station ID every 5 songs or so.

selection is better
sound quality is better
the DJs know their genre of music well
and the signal strength is better

Using XM in NH is pretty spotty, so much so that unless it's for your house it's not even worth getting for your car. My experience with Sirus so far is pretty good... the only time I've ever sceen a signal lost is in a tunnel (and lets face it you wont even get FM in most tunnels)

also when you loose a signal it just mutes until it finds it again. it's al digital so theres no static ever.

I'm thinking of installing one in my wrx after listening to hers.

thanks for all the input. I've been reading a lot of mixed reviews about sirius, I gather that it all depends on where you live, how good the reception and sound is.  good to hear that it's good around here

just hope I can get it installed and activated before I drive to MN next month

oh, anyone know how heavy the tuners are, since mine isnt here yet, I might give mounting mine on the back seat a try if its not really heavy.

Got mine installed and activated in not even an hour, just now

I'm liking it a lot so far except I can't sit in the garage and listen to it, haha.  I just left the antenna on the back deck, no mounting it outside the car, gunna see how that works and if it comes out crappy I'm probably going to put it on the decklid...

I stashed the tuner under the back seat, but I dont want to leave it there permanently because I dont want someone to sit back there and wiggle their ass around or something and break the damn thing.  I'll prolly still mount it on the back of the seat, just when I am not so lazy :) no one rides in my car ever so I dont have to worry about someone sitting on it right away.

other than that, it's a lot of fun.  my road trip to MN next month is gunna kick some booty.

you might have problems with reception when you drive south if it's on the rear deck  :?

not really sure how far south.... I know it requires a "clear view of the southern sky" for locations around here.

my guess would be that  unless you're driving south up a steep hill you'll be fine  8)
