TGV deletes, porting
« on: February 04, 2009, 03:10:07 PM »
So I got my taxes done and I have some extra money to spend, i was wondering if theres anyplace locally that does tgv deletes or porting and polishing. I know grimmspeed and other companies do it, but id like to avoid the down time. Just trying to squeeze alittle more out of my stock turbo.

Morgan @ Synapse Motorsport ported my old side-feed TGV housings.  I liked the work he did better than my new top-feed Grimmspeed TGV housings.  Grimmspeed uses these little screw-in plugs on the outer holes in the TGV housings (which cause some turbulence), and leaves the inner holes unplugged.  Morgan welded them all closed.  I think he charged me $200 which is inline with everybody else.

A few people have seen ~10whp with TGV deletes on stock STIs.  I would imagine the power gain scales with overall power output (i.e. a motor making 500whp would see bigger gains than one making 300whp).

i just took the flappers off myself...  for free.  i know its not "optimal" air flow but it helped me make my power.
Today, I tried to change my password to “my dick”. The website said it was too long.

That's my plan as well, do you see a issue on cold starts in the winter? Considering their is no flappers now to help with starting.

I'd lose unless it was an eighth mile race.  Code Blues integra made 700whp and is prolly 300-500lbs lighter than my STI.
