if nobody speaks up by the time i check on this in the morning, i'll post something in the for sale section to get some more attention

I'm definitely interested.  I'm just interested in changing the tranny fluid for my 5 speed.

Just the tranny, not the rear diff?

I just sent Fred a message for a final price on the barrel and 4 tranny drain plug washers (I'm assuming we all need those, right? Speak up if you've already got one to use and I'll take it off the order)

So, I'm in for 5 qts (tranny and diff)
Gebby1029 just wants 4 qts?
spoolordie 2 shares being 8qts or 10qts?

gimme the amounts you want in quarts, not shares, and I'll figure out the pricing.
And, does anyone have a way of splitiing this out? or does anyone have a place we can all get together to do the fluid changes at the same time?

this is why i'm not usually in charge of coordinating things...i'm no good at it LOL

I know I want to change my tranny fluid.  How difficult is it to change the diff fluid? And how much per quart does it cost getting in on a group buy like this?

i believe the pricing work out to 7.88 per quart.

157.68 is the price with tax on the drum, which hold 20 quarts

drain plugs on the transmissions can be reused, i don't stock them becasue i've only sold 1 in 3 years

it's looking like it's gonna be roughly $7.50 a quart, plus the cost of a drain plug washer.
rear diff is an additional quart.  I've never done it myself, but I know how it's done, and it's not difficult

isn't there a crush washer on there that has to be replaced?

ignore that, i didn't see the pm until after that last post

Fred says it's a reusable washer, not a crush washer....so w're good to go with just the fluid

3.8 quarts for the 5 speed tranny
1 qt for the rear diff

damn...we might have an issue here. they're talking rain friday and thunderstorms saturday.  do either of you that are in on this have a garage that this could be done in?
I thought getting together and just doing them all at once would be easier, working from the barrel.
Or, should we start looking for empty containers to split the oil out into?  (I know I've got a few old oil bottles laying around that I could clean out, but not enough to do all of it)

I'm not sure yet.  I'm in the process of painting my sideskirts so that has my attention right now.

I'll look at my schedule this weekend.  I know I'm too busy til Sunday though.

ya know, i'm thinking this needs to be a running thing.  a sticky thread where people can sign up when they're going to be wanting some, and how much they want, then everytime enough have signed up you buy a barrell.  just seems like there's often interest, just timing isn't always right

sweet, i has a subaru busket lol

after gebby picks up his and i do mine, i'll have 5 or 6 quarts left. $8 a quart if anyone's interested?  (Laren, I'll let you get first dibs if you have an idea of when you'd be ready, and if it's not too far down the road.  dunno exactly what you meant about the timing being bad and all)

I could pick up 5 quarts (full MT+diff) mid next week. By timing being bad I meant my boss messed up payroll and I didn't get a paycheck last period. After Tuesday I should be caught up.

I'd definitely dig some product, I want to do my fluids soon.

I'd like to get 3 more members + me to go in on a "group buy" of this stuff with Fred again. I'm in no hurry but if the interest is there, let's do it. We can use my garage in Nisky. I'm about 10 miles +/- from Capitaland Motors.
