How to - install RA mudflaps
« on: June 24, 2009, 07:07:14 PM »
The directions I got with mine were not readable at all, so I need some help if any of the 08 wrx owners have installed them..  I got the fronts on okay, and can line up 2 of the 3 mounting points for the rears, but I assume you need to use the bracket for the inside mounting point.. I could not figure this out for the life of me.

Anyone want to assist?

For mine, there was a cylinder that was used for the inside mounting point (goes between fender liner and mudflap). Are you trying to do it with wheels on or off?

Hmm.. never thought to check youtube...

I was looking at it with the wheels on, but the rear was jacked up... I was strapped for time, so when i was able to even find out where to mount the bracket,  i didnt both going any farther.. Ill check out this video if Opera ever lets it loads.. IE and FF bit the dust last night.

Damn,  I probably searched that site fro 1/2 an hour yesterday..  I was full of failure.... although i almost had the fronts done 100% correctly.. Just didnt realize the bracket was supposed to be used up front.

Gear oil smells delicious too - that must have been fun.
Eric

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

I have gear oil dripping on my exhaust on a daily basis - the smell I'm familiar with.

The dropping a heavy 6speed on my chest and having to roll it off after getting the entire contents of it dropped on me - that I don't know about.
