[how-to] replace your timing belt
« on: July 09, 2009, 06:00:31 PM »
tackled this sunday and this thread was extremely helpful.  give yourself more time then you think you need...

http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/maintenance-service-repair/171263-timing-belt-water-pump-replacement.html

also, when removing your crank pulley, disregard the statement in that thread about a strap wrench.  it dosnt work.  just get someone to put the car into 5th then step on the brake peddle while you use a gnar breaker bar to break the bolt loose.  these words were taught to me by some beer drinkin, has been..  :-)

there is a much easier way to remove the crank pulley bolt,

place a breaker bar on the bolt and rest the bar against the right side (passenger) frame rail. crank the car just a click with the key.

bolt comes free everytime
