Fucked up alarm - current disabled
Suspension mods - Don't have specifics, but shes STIFF... also a lack of the legendary "Snap oversteer"
The good:
AFter I disabled the alarm, she runs great. Every 1 of 30 starts It trips the alarms kill switch, and i have to unhook the batter for 5 seconds to get her going again. It drives like a freakin go kart, I can't get the rear end to come around except for once the tires greased over at the Test and Tune. The stock seats are frikin comfortable. oh yea, the price and lack of mr2s around NY
The bad
Interior was a wreck but mostly cleaned up now.
Small battery drain. If it sits for 5 days or so it may not start
Exterior needs some work. Overall its very clean. The car was a CA car so that's a big bonus.
Front stereo speakers don't work, the HU is missing a volume knob, and doesn't stay flipped up.
Dash lights work intermittently.
The gas pedal is f'ed. It was only using about 50% of the throttle body range, and now its up to about 75%.. awaiting my new pedal assembly.
The tires.. They greased over really bad at the autoX... but otherwise they have okay wet and dry traction.. From what Ive read they do have great treadwear.
The plan:
Get her cleaned up, and all the little buggers worked out, also need to fix some crappy wiring jobs. Someday I want to get her up on a lift to take pictures and find out exactly what suspension parts it has.. May come to RPI to use their lift if I cant find a place to do it out this way.
I plan on testing the waters on painting. If all goes well with my housing plan, Ill have a place to paint some pieces this winter as a test. then in spring paint the body.. Overall I cant see spending $2k on a $3k car.
