While I will agree that Extra-S is a heavenly fluid, comparing it with USC is disingenuous.

USC is NOT a "fill and forget" proposition like Extra-S is -- you need to swap the USC out every 10K-15K miles, depending on your driving habits.

Also, Scotty has clearly stated multiple times that his Cocktail is nothing more than a band-aid for transmissions with worn/dragging synchros.  Based on MY personal experience, it works as advertised with no ill effects (ZERO build-up on the magnetic drain plug after 12K miles).

I had far more touble with Amsoil Severe Gear and RedLine LW Shockproof (grinding and significant particulate build-up on the drain plug) after only ~2K miles on either fill than I ever had with USC (none, as in zero).

The ONLY reason I went to Extra-S instead of sticking with USC is b/c I wanted to get 30K miles out of a fluid swap, not 3 seasons.

It ultimately comes down to what makes your gearbox happy.  I can't begrudge or think ill of anyone based on what fluid they're using.
