New Guy Checking In
« on: November 20, 2003, 11:22:45 PM »
Hi guys and gals,

Just wanted to say Hello.  Just moved back to this area from San Diego.  I'm an avid autoxer, and have a couple of track days under my belt (not in a Subie though). I'm a general auto enthusiast, and can appreciate almost anything on wheels.   I look forward to meeting all of you soon.  Thanks! :D
Great Job on the site.

See you around!

Thanks for the kind reception guys.  I love my sunday football too but I'm in dead last in a "friendly" pool.  I can't seem to pick 'em this year.  If the meet is on the 7th, I plan on making it.   :D
Go Chargers!

Welcome to the club.  Nice to see that new people are still coming in.  So what was the scene like in SD? Just curious!

Thanks for the welcome,

San Diego's auto enthusiast scene was generally really great!   There was a place for everyone.  I think the best thing about SD was the weather was very condusive to holding events.  One weekend, I went to a car show on Friday night,  autox'ed on Saturday, and tracked on Sunday (and then surfed monday morning).  Right before I moved back, this old track started opening up again-and not to many people knew about it.  For 40 bucks you could get in as many laps as you wanted.  I would put over 120 miles of track miles on in one day. (Thats definetely what I miss the most-Holtville Track).

But, I'm glad to be back in Upstate.  I'm closer to my family, and I love my job.  So I'm a happy guy either way.   :D

Not to be overlooked, San Diego had its cons.  Street Racing was getting out of control, and theft was way out of control-my car was stolen...twice.

Hope to see all of you around soon!
