? IC Hoses

So I noticed that my IC hoses were becoming seriously dirty and the elbow underneath the IC was developing a crack. So i purchased a set of Samco Silicone IC Hoses and when I was changing them out this weekend i cannot for the life of me figure out where the small 2" hose that is about 4" long goes.

Package included:
1 elbow hose from y-pipe to turbo -
1 long hose from t-inlet to bypass valve (bov)  -
1 coupler hose from butterfly valve to IC -
1 hose, same girth as elbow hose but straight - ( no clue where this one goes)

is this an extra piece or am i just an idiot?
someone mentioned that it might be for when someone puts an STi IC on a WRX it is needed to fill a gap.
Anyone shed any light on this...

well seeing that its a intercooler hose kit it has to do with something in the intake tract but i couldn't tell ya maybe for the newer 06-07 STi's have a use for it

my guess is that is a coupler for turbo inlet to intake.

Weird!!! What year is that IC off of? The y-pipe on mine is all solid metal until you get to where the elbow piece attaches. Maybe the 05's are different for some reason, but that is the piece im talking about.  :mrgreen:

Yes, that's what the stub coupler piece is for.  Some cars were equipped with one piece y pipes, other had the split section with coupler.

If you have the solid pipe, that piece is just extra.
