Meet and Cruise to Placid 10/10
« on: September 27, 2009, 07:03:46 PM »
A few of my friends and I are trying to get a bunch of people together for a cruise to lake placid on sat 10/10. I know some pretty killer roads on the way up from my bike days  I figured it would be pretty cool to get a few subies together. We'll be meeting somewhere in the queensbury area around 9am. It should be a pretty fun time, hopefully some of you will be up for it

I'm sure it will end up being an all day trip. I'd like to head up through minerva, cross over into north hudson, get on 87 from exit 29, get off 30 and go into placid have some lunch, and then cruise back down through tupper lake, long lake, indian lake and such. I would bet on it being 200-250 miles or so. I'm sure it won't be for everybody but it should be a lot of fun and there are some great spirited roads along the way :mrgreen:Heres a quick map of the route, I'm thinking, but its subject to change :-D

If the route were reversed, you could always head up to Tupper and meet the group there.  That Blue Ridge run between North Hudson and Newcomb is

I'm quite familiar with that road, we used to go on it with bikes all the time :-D I'm not dead set on which way to go yet, I think a reversed route might be better, that way the route through minerva and such would be a fun ride back 8-)

I think with my Tune and gas and bla bla bla I got like ten bucks left on Saturday.. So iam kinda sitting here waiting for him to show up with Dom.
Then we gonna tune da Saabaru. So I can sell My Ap and make  a few extra bucks to give Dan some money. Dan is the fucking man I would just like to say..

Also I Don't except my clutch to stay constant at its present state. I think I got maybe 300 miles left before the car needs to get towed.

I haven't told my Saabaru guys that my car is not going to make. But maybe I can if someone here plans to attend.. I can help with Gas  :police:  :2funny:

I am juggling all kinds of shit right now , and prior commitments take presendence   8-)

Too bad I can't drive it off on Sunday..

I might show up to support the guys.. I know I have 3rd for the season so I get a kewl trophy?  :coolsmiley: I will prolly be around anyways..

I mean its the LAST FUCKING EVENT. I kinda wanna chill and say see ya next year..  :coolsmiley:

So now we gotta start planning the Soc Winter X games..

I'd be down for this, but would want to meet the group in Tupper on the way to Placid.

EDIT: getting out of Syracuse for a 9AM Queensbury start would be a bit of a PITA, but I'd definitely make the trip back down to QB from Placid.

Want me to try to get some of the Watertown and CNYSubarus guys in on this, or are you trying to keep the group size manageable?

Mercy General Hospital parking lot, on the left just as you're coming into Tupper on 30N.

That works for me. According to mapquest it is about 2.5 hours from here. So if we leave here around 8:30 we should be there by 11. Does that sound cool?

Meet the group in Tupper -- just follow Rt3 out of H2Otown and you're there, dude.

Even if you cant do the whole run, you can at least meet & eat with some of your brothers in Placid.

I wasn't planning on doing the whole cruise myself, but I'll probably do the the Placid back to QB section.  Or, you and I could always run with the group from Placid to Keene and North Hudson, and then boogie back home thru Newcomb, then Long Lake, then Tupper.

Not sure you need to leave that early (unless you really want to).  If you and your capitol crew gets out of QB 9/930AM, you'd be in Tupper around noon, then onto Placid for food & beer.

I put up a notice on CNYSubarus.com for the Watertown/Rome/Syracuse folks.
