And we are going on one month of waiting for pistons.

My low-comp CP slugs took 6 weeks.  Hang in there.

The block was bored/honed today.  All that's left now is to balance the rotating assembly and build it.

Yeah I live in South Carolina now, about 5 mins south of the NC border and about 20 minutes away from downtown Charlotte.  I couldn't be happier.  The weather has been great, I met a new woman down here...  life is good.  It was 60 degrees yesterday while you guys were getting snow   I do still have my place in NY, but I'll be moved out of there by the end of January.  I expect to be back in NY for x-mas and once again at the end of Jan.

There is a chance that Jr will be able to deliver the car to me once it's finished.  He mentioned that they have a 2-car trailer going to a carshow in Florida soon, and they're only bringing one car.  So they'd be able to drop mine off for me which would be great.

You should see how nice the rods after fit on the new crank... Its a thing of beauty.. Not like the old motor were you had about 14thou side to side :lol: No bent crank FTW.
Short block is all done, just waiting on the the new dowels from Subaru to throw the heads on. Then its off to the shop.

Tell me about it, I'm excited  :smitten:

My prediction is 450whp on the break-in tune, 520whp on the final 93oct tune, and 650whp on the final c16 tune...  with quicker spoolup and a wider powerband due to the higher CR and higher redline.

very nice! are you running the same turbo, injector, fuel pump, etc. setup? just the motor itself is different? what is predicted for redline?

Same fuel system but I want to hardwire one fuel pump to 100% duty cycle instead of using a hobbs switch to trigger it under boost.  Same turbo setup, etc.

The only change is the engine itself and the oil pump (going from a 10mm pump to an 11mm pump).  We'll probably rev it out to 8500.

Update, the engine is 100% done and should be in the car and running this week.

And Junior convinced me to upgrade the injectors so I'm swapping the DW1100s for ID2000 injectors.  They actually flow 2200cc at 43.5psi base pressure, and will idle better than the old injectors did.  This will give enough headroom for E85 as well as a turbo upgrade.
