The car is up and running!  Jimmy at The Shop is going to put some miles on it and the car will get it's final tune at the end of the month when I'm back in the NY area.

I talked with Junior again today about the car.  They're going to have it ready for me to pick up on the 30th and I will drive it back to SC...  it'll have the ID2000 injectors installed with a 15psi break-in tune.  Then at the end of February, Jr will come down to SC and spend a full day retuning the car.  I can get E85 locally so we'll do an E85 tune along with 93 and racegas.  He's also trying to talk me into AEM EMS and I'll probably do that in late february as well.

He mentioned that the car started right up after the engine was installed, no problems.  It doesn't leak or smoke and there's no audible piston slap, just some noise from the valvetrain which is expected.

Early to mid March.

I have been doing some thinking, and the E85 tune might need to wait.  While I have enough injector for E85, I'm afraid that the stock fuel lines will not be able to handle it.  I really need to run a -8AN fuel line and -6AN return line from the tank to the engine bay, and add a surge tank and inline fuel pump to be able to flow enough fuel for >500whp on E85.

2 days left till I pick the car up!

Airmancam was at The Shop to get tuned and he snapped a pic of my car for me:

I went and put collision insurance back on the car.  Who wants to bet that Geico will revoke my insurance when they do the visual inspection?    :-D

Junior called me today saying my wastegate was fucked and it wouldn't open anymore...  it must have rusted shut when the car was sitting.  It made 20psi by 4000rpm   and they are swapping in a new (used) tial 44mm ewg off one of their old shop cars.  He drove it about 25 miles on the dyno dialing in fueling and everything and said it idles great with the ID2000 injectors.

Ok so the car made 430whp @ 15psi with it creeping up to 16ish at redline, and with 16 degrees of timing up top.  My old motor made the same power with 18psi and 18 degrees up top.  The higher compression is VERY noticable!  You can hear the extra punch when it's idling, and the 35r spools great.  At highway speeds, say 3000rpm in 6th gear, it spools and pulls with very little throttle input.  The car starts and drives great with the ID2000's.  You'd never know it had such big injectors.  I'm halfway home to SC and it's getting 22-23mpg !!!

Yeah, the last tank of gas was 246 miles and it took 10.7 gallons to fill it...  which works out to 23mpg  :smitten:

After I left the shop when the roads were dry, I flat-footed the 1-2 shift and it spun all four drag radials through second gear    and I'm not sure what the rev limit is but my avc-r showed a peak of 8k rpms.  It has 100psi oil pressure up top, too.  I'm home in SC now and there is still a lot of snow and ice on the roads.

I was going to say that picture looked familiar :-p I do have to say Jimmy and Junior are hilarious! I should have kept my friday tune so I could have got to see your car go. I'm pretty sure I ended up with a clogged injector on my car. I ordered new 850's, they will be here Tuesday, hopefully that solves my problem. I never even got to beat on my car once after I left the shop! Junior texted me last night to try and talk me out of the 850's and switch to the ID1000's with the top feed conversion and fuel rails. I think the 850's will hold me over though. I'll be down to sc in april, we'll have to meet up man.
