I'm running PnP manifolds/crosspipe, but not from Grimmspeed. I'm happy with them.

Defiant Autospeed off Nasioc ported mine

It tends to improve spool, and low/mid-range power mostly. For what I paid, I'm happy with my investment.

The EWG/BCS combination I installed when Dom came out worked well.

im running the PNP manifolds and hi flow cross pipe on my 06/07. i love it, fit is perfect (obviously) and i highly recommend getting them ceramic coated by them. The quality is amazing and they really put effort into the pieces

as for power i switched from a GTspec unequal length header to these and i actually gained more torque using the PNP setup and boost hits a little quicker now. the top end is a little lacking compared to the gtspecs but i cant complain, its a perfect streetable setup with 0 drawbacks.

I have heard good things about these and if you get a bigger turbo it will keep your exhaust temp till after the turbo which will promote better spool up.

I have one off an FXT or '06/'07 WRX that's already ported I'm trying to sell locally before it goes for sale nationally (shameless plug)

I have Grimm's version 1 x-pipe -- no mirror polish on that one but the thermal coat and fit are

Got my manifolds done 4 years ago by Crucial <-- expensive, but beautiful work.  The ceramic coating is still minty.

I have p&p manifold/up-pipe/high flow xpipe by grimmspeed . The quality and the work is tip top. The only problem I have.. You can really hear the subaru valve tick with this cross pipe. I wrapped mine except on the flex section and can still hear it. I might put the heatsheilds back on and rewrap it here soon.

Dom, while he was up, talked to me about pnp vs the oem style stepped manifolds.  I'd explain but I'd do a terrible job.  They're stepped OEM "for a reason" was the lesson I pulled from the discussion.  I'm sure he could elaborate.  :-)

Was Dom saying this was a worthwhile mod or not? I'll be installing mine in the next couple weeks.

No dom believes it is not worth the money or time, as he said if it was so beneficial why wouldn't Subaru just do it because it is such and easy thing to do.  So I don't bother doing it.

how is it different from un equal length headers? this mod is supposed to give better exhaust flow to the turbo, and out to the downpipe.

He didn't say it was 'bad', he had just seen it installed on big-turbo-high-boost-built cars and seen them lose power.  Then he explained why, which spoolordie remembered a lot better than me.

I'm in luck, I don't have a large turbo or high boost! Hopefully it works out in my favor  :-D
