Thermostat Leak?
« on: December 05, 2009, 12:54:59 PM »
Okay So I have a 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback. I put in a Ne Thermostat because this thing didnt have one. I also put a new ring in also BUT on the inside bolt it seems to be leaking anyway? I am wondering if anyone has had this problem before because now I am wondering if maybe something might be cracked

did you get a OEM thermostat or an advance/napa one????

also was the thermostat housing a plasitic or metal piece that connects to the radiator hose??

chances are the oring might have slipped when you installed it and it is leaking slowly.

its from Advanced there s only one from advanced that actually is suppose to work for the thermostat though they sell 2 different ones, Ring is in the port its supose to be in, It sees to be leaking from oe of the bolts....I personally am nw to the motor part of Subies, I have only done After Market Suspensions, Exhausts and Maifolds along with the Brakes, So lets just say This is going to be a interesting Read because I like the way these 4 bangers are made

this "ring" is a rubber o-ring that stretches around the thermostat right??
