I didn't wanna be the one to say that LOL
mine is starting to go I think....works only when I get real close sometimes.  But the light on the remote is still nice and bright  :?

I'm thinking we can't trust those lights as battery indicators

Put the remote to your chin and use your head as an antenna to extend the range. I do it all the time, because I havent changed my battery yet.

I got a couple batteries from the 2005 remote..   I think they are ..Cr2032  If they fit you can have one. I bought a triple pack from Radio shack for I think 15 bucks.

A good trick to get the remote to work farther... You can take the remote apart and if you follow the trace that goes along the outside of the remote.. { the outter Edge] that is your antenna . Just solder in a new wire over the board. .Like a 18ga or something and it should increase the strength of the signal .. So instead of 10 feet you got 50.00   let me know if that is the battery you need I can drop it off you are not too far from me. .. I don't think Right?

:-D  that would probably cut my range in half. I dunno what it is, but I lower signals.  I can have full reception on a cell phone in my hand, but bring it up to my head and just watch the bars drop  :|

Most keyless entry systems have an antenna inside the car.  On this antenna there is normally a reset button on the antenna.  Make sure you have fresh batteries in the remote and then hit this reset button. I had the same problem on my pick-up, reset the system and replaced the batteries and it fixed the problem. If that doesn't work then it has to be a circuit problem in the keyless entry renote, or inside the car.

did you try reprogramming it? or are you worried that'll stop it from working all together?
maybe someone with a wreck would sell a key fob cheap over at the part out section on nazi-ick? Wish I had thought to keep mine off my last car  :uglystupid2:
