Well I got my car back...
« on: December 13, 2009, 07:56:41 PM »
Well, I got my car back today.  After a death defying trip from Glens Falls to Duanesburg, I'm safe and sound at home.

I'm pretty excited. Fred put in his built motor and a new(ish) tranny for me and got her all back up and running. I'm pretty excited. Fluty and I are taking a trip out to Dent Sport Garage on Wednesday to get her tuned.

Thanks so much to Fred for helping me out. +2 for him!

So power-wise, what mods does this car now have and what numbers are you looking for?

I watched it get built and was in the garage with the engine at one point, does that count???

Glad you got it back - told you it was in great hands.
Eric

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

So power-wise, what mods does this car now have and what numbers are you looking for?

'03 Built ling block 1mm over sized valves
Garret 16G
3" DP to STi Catback
FMIC
550cc's Injectors
Walboro Fuel Pump
AEM intake
Light weight crank pulley
Headers
Probably some other stuff...I start to lose track without writing this crap down. (It is written down somewhere on this computer)

To answer your other question. I'm really not looking for any numbers in particular. I'm just really excited to see what it logs. I'm not gonna push it too hard until I get another car. Once I get another car...it's gonna be balls to the wall. Then I'll think about pushing some serious gain.

Yay!  Be nice to it!

I promise...I will. =)

Congrats, Ben!

Keep us updated on the DSG tune

Thanks man, I definitely will keep everyone posted. I started a thread in the Elec/Tuning area where I will post all my results and probabaly a video.

Yeah, they probably will...but I'm gonna get it tuned (for now) without too much boost. I'm thinking 18lbs at the absolute max. Then when I have some more money to get bigger injectors, and have a different daily driver...I'll do that and then see what she can really do.

benji hasnt been on in a couple days...no tune was able to be done because the subaru knock sensor is too sensitive for this new motor. matt at DSG turned it off and kept the boost low so nothing gets damaged but it basically at the level of a stock wrx. no numbers or dyno sheet.

hopefully he will be on soon to update with his own feelings but it was a not so good day :-(
