Blown Head Gasket
« on: December 31, 2009, 11:01:28 AM »
Hey my mechanic said I have a blown head gasket. I'm not that much of a technical guy, but I believe him. How much should a job like this cost, just a ballpark figure. Subaru is quoting me at $1,700 bucks. Is that correct? I am looking elswhere too for the best price. If someone knows where to go for the hook up, please let me know. I have an 05 wrx with 62k on it

Dealerships rarely have the lowest price.  I paid $500 less for a new clutch and other related parts at AAMCO than what Lia Honda wanted (btw that place sucks, never go there for anything haha).

I don't know recommended shops but I'm sure others can chime in on that.

Even if you go somewhere other than the dealership, use OEM parts.  If not, use an upgrade!!  Don't reseal your engine with some junk like felpro.
