Thanks man, I'm heading down the beginning of feb to the shopct. I just bought 850cc injectors, so I'm starting to collect the parts. I'll probably buy the rest next week. I can't wait. As far as needing a separate housing..why can't you just block off the wastegate door like stock turbo?

I thought I'd welcomed you to the club, but I guess I didn't. Welcome :)

http://www.iwsti.com/forums/gd-members-journals/169964-airmancams-06-sti.html#post2718539 there's a link to my member journal on iwsti. I'm about to order some injectors a fmic el headers and EWG and get tuned on e85. Along with a set of advans, sway bars and strut braces. Then it's onto another bike.

Have you ridden in an EWG'd car? I'll be driving up with Corey this weekend to pick up the pitch stop mount if you haven't and want to before you buy it.

yeah I've been in quite a few 400+whp ewg cars, including byrons Sti. I'm just super pumped for some stupid stock turbo power. I'm going for the record so mid 11s here I come! What's done to your Sti? It'll be cool to meet more people from the forum!

I have the one piece EL header so i would have to put 2 wastgates in because it does not go to one pipe until about 1" before the turbo. Plus I like ATP's design.

Hey Blake.  Glad the jack worked out :)  I'm the guy that sold it to you - my name's Eric.  Good to see you on the boards.  I'm sure everyone will get to meet you soon enough.  That reminds me, when's the next unysoc meetup?  Pump Station or Brown's?  I could use a beer and talking to people who actually know what 1.4 bar means!  Ugh!  Some of the domestic-heads I deal with all day couldn't tell you about any motor unless the cam goes right through the middle.

Eric,

Yeah the jack is way better than the craftsman i had. As for the next meat I'm down for the pump station or where ever. Do you drive the blue wagon hatch back? when i pulled up to pick the jack i saw a wagon rip it out of the parking lot. If you every want to come over have a beer, talk shop, and check out he cars hit me up. I'm hoping that the snow keeps melting so i can break the Subaru out and have some fun.

Nope, blue wagon belongs to Brian next door at the service center.  He's on this board occasionally, I think.  Has a few tweaks done to it, nothing serious.  Right now i'm subie-less.  Never owned one, in fact.  I've just spent more time working on them than probably all my projects combined  :|
Snow will keep melting, but that's part of what makes it fun.  Get some snow tires and have a blast ;)
I'm always down for a beer and some shop talk.  Once in a while the unysoc guys do larger meetups at a venue like the pump station or brown's.  Always a good time.

Eric,

What are you driving right now got any projects planned? i was thinking about snow tires but i don't trust winter drivers and i wanted something that i could take off road and have some fun with no worries. this is something i don't feel would be wise in a car that i have about 45,000-50,000 in (car + mods). so i bought an $800 4runner (same price as snow tires) to get me by. Plus we invented christmas tree slaloming on my buddies property one night when we where about 10-15 beers deep one of the most fun things that i have ever done even after we rolled it. so i got one too so we can compete. i will explain in more detail at one of the meets. So i guess that leads me to the next question; when is the next meet or night out for some beers?

Well i just drive my Wrangler at the moment.  My project car is probably going to need a full-on resurrection and exorcism before it'll race again.   A 4Runner is about as good as you can get, frame rot notwithstanding.  Winter drivers up here aren't so bad ;)  At least most people have seen snow before.

No idea when the next meet is.  Hopefully it's sometime soon.  Always a good time with the subie guys even if they're a bunch of misguided children who haven't accepted the truth that Evos are superior in every aspect of the universe.

Thats too bad man. Forgive me if I misread that post, I just skimmed it but were they telling you to check the vent hose near the TMIC when you have a FMIC? :idiot2:

Generally speaking, you're going to have some oil residue in the compressor housing.  You should NOT have like, dribbling, running amounts of it.  A few drops worth won't hurt anything.  I've noticed on higher boost turbo motors running restrictive or dirty air filters, that the restrictive filter will cause a pressure differential in the intake pipe, which will put a larger vacuum on the crankcase.  Essentially you'll be sucking the oil vapor out of there stronger than normal and it's all going to end up inside the intake piping.  A catchcan is really the only way to know for sure, as you'll know whether the oil you find is truly seeping around the compressor-side bearing,  or is being sucked into the housing through the crankcase vent in the intake.  Usually you're not going to see oil seeping into the compressor housing through the shaft or bearing assembly.  If there's enough clearance for oil to seep around into the housing, there's enough clearance to put the turbocharger's rotating assembly out of spec and into a dangerous condition for proper balance.  (Check the inducer for radial/axial play.  It should be less than a tenth of a millimeter - essentially should feel like no play).  The other possibility is a set of worn piston rings and/or piston skirts, which is a known weak point for the boxer motors.  That will allow significantly more blowby into the crankcase which will increase the amount of vapor evacuated by the vents.  Is this a stock shortblock you're running?

Well I have become another victor of the 07 Subaru piston ring plague. After a compression test my number 4 cylinder put out a high of 80 which is how the crank case became pressurized.

As for all the oil the ATP turbo’s are designed to leak by the seals if they get pressurized to prevent the turbo from getting damaged and that is where all my oil is coming from.

Not to worry I will have the block out tomorrow and EFI will be starting on my new motor with in the week so I should be up and running in no time (6 weeks) and I have a few new goodies that are going into this motor (high reving).
Thanks for the help

Another #4 bites the dust.  Ugh.  May I suggest a parallel feed fuel rail system and equal length headers?

At 9:53 AM this sarcasm punched me in the face.  Firstly, awesome post, secondly, that sucks and good luck with the build.

well i got the heads off tonight and they are shipping off to headgames in the morning for a complete PnP job, springs, valves, ect and a set of 272 cams all set up for 8000 RPM. I will be dropping my block off at Larry's power later this week where i will be getting the block machined (each cylinder match for its piston), race balancing (crank, piston, rods, and fly wheel), and blue printed amongst other things. I will be running Cosworth pistons 99.5mm, Manley rods H beam, stock crank, apr head studs, acl bearings, 08 oil pump, killer bee oil pick up, and stock head gasket.

Im sure i will be adding other things but let me know if anyone see anything i am missing.

RedRoof2 i am currently running a ELH but may look into the fuel system.
