Ok so ive been giving this some high though and want to know what you all think...

I love my RS... and I know im looking into an STi in the spring but I am also considering holding onto the RS a little longer... and If I do decide to hold onto it I will begin to put parts into it. What do you think I should do? wait on the STi a little longer, and have some fun with the RS, or just can the RS around spring time?

RS has 95k on it...

If I do keep the RS, id be looking to buy

JDM tails red/white
V6 front spoiler
V6 rear spoiler
Rear sway bar
Coupe wing
exhaust/ intake
MOMO wheel
and get some Azenis for autoX

just want peoples opinions... thanks!

If you plan on getting an apt  with your gf, thats a lot of expenses i would keep the RS and mildy tune since you already have the car, instead of throwing yourself into new car payments and a new, i think it would be easier money wise ...my opinion

Granted, Subies have a history of longevity, but do you want to start sinking money into mods with that many miles? If you have the money to spend, trade in the RS...

I have both. they are both great.
I can kill z06 vette's at autox with either.
but nothing can is like the feeling of 300hp.

I didn't drive the STi for about 2 weeks, only the RS. then i took the STi to the shop Tuesday and couldn't believe it.  POWER!!!

I really depends what your main goal for your car is.
Don't let power cloud all your thoughts.  There will ALWAYS be a faster car out there.

matt, i think after our conversation your decision was made. keep the rs for another year. have fun with it. as much as i loved my sti, i'm really enjoying working on the wrx in attempts to make it look great and fast as hell. keep the rs and make it amazing.

I know all about wanting to make the GC8 look good. But I have vowed to make it the all go/no show car.  The only things on your list that will make it go are the sway bar and tires.  (exhaust and intake really make no difference on this motor)  If you want looks then the sky is the limit.  Maybe you should tape a picture of the STi to your credit card or wallet.  I know it's hard to have a car and not dump all your extra cash into making it look/drive good. But if it's not your ultimate car and you know you are only going to keep it for one more year then you could do a lot more with the money by saving it for the STi. I put a large down paymant on my new car and my monthly payment is lower than my '02.  It's nice to have the new car and still have some money to spend on parts.

Yeah I sound like the Dad..."don't spend your money on that son, you need to save some in the bank."

All I'm saying is since you and all of us know you are going to spend money on the car(we all do) just do it wisely(and keep a pic of the STi close by).

I think a JDM EJ20T equipped 2.5RS would be cool, especially with some hardcore rally equipment. Maybe thats just my opinion though.
Eric

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.
