So a good friend was home over the weekend for his little bro's graduation... I went to the party to brush up on my beer pong skills. Had a great time until the next morning. Went to drive home and realized that some punkass kid keyed my car! Got the driver side rear fender pretty good... and the entire length of my spoiler. Reported the claim to my insurance company, but I am a firm believer in getting what you pay for. Expensive shop or not, I don't care... Give me whatcha got. I'm in the Saugerties/Kingston/Poughkeepsie area... and my baby needs fixin'!! I still can't believe I need to get my car painted before my second oil change. Grrrrr....

do you drive a blue suby? i think i saw you a couple days ago turning near angelas pizza, i was in a green 4runner next to you... or someone in a blue suby atleast....

one really good place to go to is Quality Auto Body in Cairo, my best friend is the painter there, they do excellant work. i would take my car there if i needed paint work. in fact hes the one who painted my wing. if you want there #, lemme know.

It would be cool if there was a car alarm that electrified the metal on your car so that if you touched a key to it it would give you a nasty shock.

I dont even think its possible, but it would be nice.

i might be able to rig that, using electrics from a touch lamp, and a neon transformer.... but it could get ya as you open the door... getting zapped by 12kv sucks....

Sorry to hear that. My car has been keyed also on the fender next to the top of the trunk. Hard to explain where it is, but oh yeah...its there.

Yeah, that was me! I make that turn at Angela's to go to my mom's house.

Cairo is kind of out of the way, but I work with a kid who lives up there... so it's probably worth calling and checking out. The insurance adjustor is calling me today & should be coming to check out the damage today or tomorrow...

anybody know what the deal with the spoiler will be? it's not like the fender.... the scratch on the spoiler can't be buffed out, can it...? so will they replace the whole spoiler (preferred), or use some kind of filler in the scratch, then paint it?

insurance companys are really weird sometimes, they could go either way on the spoiler. if they dont do what youd prefer, call em up and bitch em out. they might change there mind, might.

Ouality is a good shop I know both Johns and I've had lots of work done there!!

well i have a huge scratch along the blade of my spoiler. i just used touch up paint to keep it from rusting or cracking. its like 500 to get trunk and wing fixed not really woth it unless whole car is going to be done

then again, I very very rarely leave my car for long periods in public spaces. Either I'm in the garage at home or at work, and the lots are usually pretty safe at work...

Mellisa you should go to supreme autobody in saugerties and talk to mark he did all the work on my wrx. I think I might have seen you in kingston before I have the black rex with the c-west kit! Let me no if interested I can get you marks number

In south africa the the auto theft rate is so high that they legalized "offensive theft deterents" one of which was an electical current that runs throughout the car that is contolled by remote, another is 18 inch jets of fire that run out of rails on the unerside of the driver door that is activated by the handle when the system is on. see this is why the discovery channel is sweet ass they showed what the electical one would do by rolling a tomato down the windshield, when it got to the hood well... it was pretty cool

Paint job is done, but it was a nightmare... got the car back and there were definite bubbles in paint job... all over the spoiler. I didn't know much about paint at the time, but I thought they could have taken it back, wet sanded it, and be done with it pretty easily. Gave me a really hard time UNTIL I WENT BACK WITH A GUY. Idiots.

Anyway- I've def. seen you around kingston/saugerties. it's weird, because I literally was just talking about you and your car... and it was like one of those I-know-someone-who-knows-someone-who-knows-you.
