Rota DPT 18x9.5's on '06 STI

So I see a few others have recently been down the road of wheels/tire sizes and fender rolling so i need some feed back. I've got a set of 18x9.5 Rota's that I'm going to attempt to stuff under my '06 STI. I'm looking for an effective tire size for these wheels not the wheel waisting "Streched" look. 
I was thinking at least 255/40/18..

Also, I'm not sure I'm gonna like the White on WRB look so powder coating? Who and Where do you recommend?

Ugh I hate this trend lol.
245/45/18 would most likely work.
Just spray paint them.

Depending on how much camber you have you could probably fit 255-265's. 

Do you have coilovers or stock struts?

Yeah I'm not thrilled with the color either, but I got a really good deal so...
I have the stock struts and I believe the rear camber is almost as far negative as it can go stock. Also the offset is +22.
Now when you say 245/45 the "45" is the side wall height correct, so isn't that taller than a "40" and less likely to clear the struts or fender?

Yes a 45 is taller than a 40 but is also less likely to grenade your tire on a pothole.  It will also give your wheel a little more padding over bumps.
