I recently purchased a 2007 forester xt , while i'm very pleased with the performance, I'm looking to make it breath a little better and get some great sound out of it without being to loud, without voiding the warranty. any sugestions anyone out there.

You could buy a spare midpipe and have an exhaust shop (or someone on here) remove the resonator. Then just swap it back to the unmodified factory one whenever you bring it in for service.

Idk about your forester but on my Rex I've got a Cobb downpipe and straight pipe from there back. I did the work myself so other than the downpipe it didn't cost me much and it sounds awsome. But it sounds like you don't want it that loud. I made it so I could put it back to stock ei. Flanges and all of that. One day I was bored and put the stock mufflers back on it but left the resonater off and the Cobb dp on and my car was wicked quiet. Even when I drove hard I could barely hear it. I have an 09 and it has dual exhaust which obviously means 2 mufflers so I don't know if that's why it was so quiet but I would look into it befor you waste your time and possibly money if you need to take it somewhere to do the work.
