Are these numbers right???
« on: February 26, 2010, 09:33:51 AM »
So i understand depends on the car , day, ect..... But is it me or does this number seem high, surprisingly high for a mustang dyno??? Now I see that it says "dyno tune" but if you read into it there is no tuner, all stock settings, setting a baseline for the tune. Am I missing something or do the stock wrx's put out more power than advertised?

Second, do the cobb accessports really only add like 16hp/20tq..... these numbers seem really low.

Thanks,
Bill

Wildly optimistic.

You could count the number of unmolested Mustangs in this country on one hand, and this ain't one of 'em.

2009 WRX's got a larger turbo than previous WRX's and were rated at 265hp.

Those increases in power are done as percentages, not actually horsepower and torque numbers.

But even rated at 265 hp wouldn't you lose roughly 20% hp to the awd? That would put it more around 210ish no?

for reference...on moon performances mustang dyno, Taylors (owner) wifes bone stock no modification 04/05 sti put down ~210AWHP. yes the elevation is higher but that is a 30% drop from the advertised 300hp. so for 265 that would put it at ~185AWHP. those #'s seem extremely high...especially for a mustang dyno
