HI there I'm a new WRX owner,
« on: February 27, 2010, 04:49:25 PM »
Hi there
My Name is Tony and this is my second Subaru, I had a 2008 Legacy.
Now I'm the proud owner of a 2010 WRX 2.5 Turbo. (Stock)
I haven't drive stick for a long time, but I hope everything comes back soon to really enjoy driving this baby
I am a simple person, the only thing in my mind to put on the car will be the SPT exhaust system.
Any suggenstions of what to put on the car?
I don't know much about cars so any suggestions will be great.

I posted the original message on the wrong place sorry, I hope this is the right place to post this.

Thanks for the welcome...
It came with the short shifter...
For my eyes she looks perfect, but obviously it needs the SPT exhaust system.
I appreciate all the suggestions and help.
Thanks.

Howdy!  Learn to love the car.  Eventually you'll find some stuff you'll wanna change, and have more knowledge by then to go about it.

POST PICS!  8-)

Cobb ap and a turbo back exhaust would be my first choice. The spt ones suck there are a lot of better choices out there for the same amount of cash. My fist set of mods when I boight my Subaru was a stage 2 (turbo back exhaust and a Cobb ap) plus a fuel pump, ebc, and a Cobb short shifter. This was a great first set up and you would love it.

welcome and nice upgrade in vehicle. dont get me wrong, i love the legacys but you cant compare a NA Auto legacy to a manual '10 wrx

sounds like you wont be too much into modding so the SPT exhaust should work perfect for you. it wont void any warranties and if the cops give you shit, you can tell them its a dealer option.

i do recommend the short shifter upgrade.  the stock short shifter is still no short enough in my opinion

GL either way with whatever you do and like i said welcome. as its been said multiple times, get pics up ASAP :-P

Hey now. There is nothing wrong with the AP. It's an easy way to fix the stock tune and gives him options for more power.

Oh and welcome!!!

Welcome. Short throw shifter and all applicable bushings. Smooth shifting is worth its weight in gold. Are you at all interested in doing suspension mods? I know SPT makes front and rear strut bars.

I will post pictures as soon as I pick it up tomorrow from the dealer, they are finishing the paperwork and getting the car ready and tunned for the road.
My wife was pretty cool about the whole thing. I got her a 2010 Toyota rav4 sport black on black. And I was suppossed to get a 2010 outback 3.6 R 6 speed which was really sweet. Then I saw the WRX and I was sold lol. They had a 2008 STI with only 5k miles on for sale, it was a showroom car and she told me " get that one better is a whole lot better " and we tried but the payments where ridiculous. So I went for the WRX which is a very cool car. So tomorrow is the day that I can officially become a WRX member.
I am looking forward to know more about the car with your help of course.
See you guys around

Here, Here my good man.  Excellent point.  Sorry if I came off as 'bagging on' the Accessport.  Just read up on what it does would be my suggestion.  Learn, Learn, Learn before you change a thing.  IDipSkoalMint did months of reading before laid a hand on his STI to mod, and having driven it, it has really payed off.

Thanks! The only modification I regret so far is the garbage RallyArmor "Basic" mudflaps - on a car that has hardly seen speeds in excess of 75mph, they've warped horribly :|

To anyone contemplating doing mudflaps, man up and pay for the URs

welcome to the site man.
If you like to take a look at the exhaust or hear it, the spt is what I have on mine.    Not to loud but still gives a nice rumble
When i got, the price was right.   Im happy with it.  Only downside is pipping can be a little on low side.

Congrats! Drive your car for a few months before you mod it.  Think about your warranty too!
