I hate the look of my 06 tails and might go lamin-x or nightshades but i have seen some people do the newer 08+ tails with krylon red staind glass spray paint and they look pretty good.

What do you guys think?

Why the hell not, guess that's one to do this week, i gotta re-do the headlights anyways

If you are worried about being a ginea pig then maybe find some clear plastic to cover the tails and then tint that. If you hate it unwrap the tails and if you love it you can move on to a more permenant application on the tail light.

I was thinking saran wrap might even work if you can get it to stick with static cling but It may be too thin or dissolve in the paint's carrier solvents. Test it off the car and it may be the ticket to a quick and dirty test run of the red tinted 06-07 tails

i'd feel more confident using a thicker clear vinyl.  I'm sure you can find something real cheap at a craft store that would cover the whole lens

What about just getting red tint film from the craft store and use that to tint the lights... then you can just peel it off if you need to go back to stock.

just doesn't seem like it'd be thick enough unless it was lamin-x

if you're going to use vinyl as a permanent solution, yeah...might as well use the stuff made for it.  but it probably would work for the mock up.  would give you an idea of how many layers you'll want to spray

Avoid. Velspar brand.  That's what I used on my 08 and it was more pink than red so I had to go heavy.

There is a duplicolor that matches red lenses almost perfectly.  It shows up on thw 3gwrx forum,  but I'm mobie right now

I've never found duplicolor stained glass locally
